I thought Sheldon only liked that spot because in the Summer the cross breeze between two windows keeps him cool. In the Winter, the spot is close enough to the radiator to keep him warm, but not too hot that he sweats. And it faces the television at an angle where he can watch tv and still socialise with his friends. He never said anything about the cushion itself.
