that told interview told me more about Mr Crisp in 16 minutes, than the entire two hours of Englishman in New York. I did thoroughly enjoy the movie; JOhn HUrt knocked it out of the park; however I really got a front row seat to the man's brilliance through the stories told by "Miss Arcade." Great!

Penny is such an interesting orator and interview subject. I only wish the interview was longer!

Tx, much appreciated. This is wonderful insight into the real QC. His intellect & it’s unique perspective is what most draws me… I would have conversed with him forever!!! To me, his conviction to himself was his strength & it’s frustration that got misinterpreted / misunderstood by specific groups. I hope wherever he is, he’s found someone special with whom he can unabashedly & reciprocally share his love, wisdom & style.

she is so smart and succinct ... could listen to her for hours, what a character. I remember seeing that film and thinking it was made for the PC police rather than a true document like the first film

Goodness, Penny seems so decent and lovely. She's very loyal to Quentin and really tries to cut through all the faff to impress a sense of his character, humanity and life upon the audience. I agree. Quentin was very intelligent but limited by his perceived deviations from whatever passed for orthodoxy during the early and later stages of his life. He was very lucky to have her as a friend (and vice versa).

chris bond she said “a Warhol superstar.” Andy Warhol had a group of young people around him that he called his “super stars.” Penny was one of them.

I know this lady only through her connection to the great Quentin Crisp - others presumably know her through Warhol. Seems to me her limited fame is mostly by association. I read that she asked to play herself in 'An Englishman in New York' but was turned down in favour of 'Sex and the City' star Cynthia Nixon. Against that truth, I don't think she was ever going to love the play! That said, I saw it recently for the first time, and was disappointed. She's right - it condenses far too many years/events into 90 minutes. Despite John Hurt reprising his role from the far superior 'The Naked Civil Servant', it lacks the magic of that brilliant movie (which of course was based on his brilliant, first autobiography of the same name). John Hurt simply did not capture QC in this, his second incarnation. I like this lady. She is smart and insightful, and I totally see why Quentin Crisp (who was nobody's fool), loved her! She genuinely gets him, and had clearly built as close a relationship with him as was possible to achieve. He was always 'the cat who walked alone'. And it's a rare privilege to call him a friend.

Quentin Crisp, being so intelligent and sharp as he was, might have tried to convey the idea , in inuendo fashion , that Aids and syphilis were considered by quite a lot of people as a punishment that served them right, when in reality syphilis in fact had being a plage for heterosexuals for ages . I think he was kinf of mocking them.

This interviewer kept talking and talking, and when Penny wanted to respond he would just keep talking. It was quite frustrating to listen to!

I am a gay, Salvadoran, atheist, trump supporter. I abhor the current “lgbt” movement. I am both curious of what Quentin would make of me, and I also couldn’t care less.
