This fight in-game is one that no matter if you see every part of it coming, it still hits emotionally. And this song has EVERY part of Penny's character in it; her originating from Galar, her resolve to end Team Star's actions, but still holding the ideals of Team Star close to her.

@@blu6295 Yup -- pretty big spoilers if you haven't played this far, obviously, but after the big incident a year-and-a-half before the game's story, with Team Star bringing the Starmobiles to the Academy to stand up for themselves (and a lot of the bully kids ended up leaving the Academy and most of the staff quit), Penny took the fall for the other Team Star members and said it was all her idea, and it was mentioned that was sent back to her home region of Galar for a time.

It is a very deep plot with the history of the group since it not only shows a situation in which the victims became victimizers and the corruption of the the former board of directors of the academy when trying to hide the scandal.

I love this track because it feels distinct from anything the franchise has produced before but it has familiar elements you might see in a Pokemon soundtrack. Feels like what they were trying to do with Wally's battle theme, but executed well this time. Edit: Just realized how much this sounds like the Galar gym theme in places. Holy freaking cow, bud! How I missed this earlier, I'll never know. But this is one of the best things I've heard in a long while. Loved this theme in the game, and I am just impressed with this cover. The pace you manage to keep in the song just highlights what Penny must've been feeling in a battle like this. Penny is a much better person than most fans seem to realize. If Clavel wasn’t as empathetic to the students of his academy, Penny would have sacrificed not only her name and reputation, but possibly the only chance of ever meeting her best friends face-to-face. She would have gladly faced expulsion if it meant that her only friends were safe from the same fate. Ultimately, Starfall Street is a story about friendship, when revenge goes too far, and the journey to correct past mistakes. Penny may have technically committed a few crimes during Operation Starfall, but it was all for a good cause. Her undying friendship, loyalty, and willingness to sacrifice her studenthood for the ones she loves are noble traits for someone like her to have, and she did it all despite her shy, introverted nature. I love this storyline so much, man. Wholesome friendship stuff hits me right in the feels every time. Penny's story is the only time a Pokemon game has ever made me cry. I wish I could give her a hug, because she deserves one.

I fully agree with you in the description about wanting to hear the music in-game first; it's much more of a hype moment when you hear a catchy beat come in alongside a big moment. I've also enjoyed music a lot more once I've played the game they're from as I can appreciate them more that way; I usually find myself bouncing off music from games I haven't played, whereas the ones I have played usually stick around even if they aren't in my usual taste because I have that tie to them through the gameplay.
