They're a rare treat! I absolutely savored this sequence, and I loved the sequence when Ethan taught Victor how to shoot. They're quite "brotherly" in that sequence, and then when Sembene comes to ask about the racket, Ethan says "Uh oh! We're in trouble with Dad!" So cute! :)

I agree completely. I've never bought Logan's stories about knowing where it would end and that it was always meant to end at S3. It never made sense to end it at S3. As for Jekyll...that's just one of the storylines that proves Logan is a liar. If you're wrapping up a series, why intro such a strong character...or indeed, anything new at all?? It's bullshit.

Every color is Eva Green's color from what I have seen. I wouldn't consider her classically beautiful but she's striking & her eyes are rather exotic looking. Every character she's created dominates the screen with the force of the personality she gives it (even the silly ones). I've enjoyed every performance I've seen her give.

When Vanessa says white isnt her color, i always remember that white isn't her color *anymore. With the flashback in season 1 with Mina, we clearly see a young Vanessa wearing pastels and lighter colors. The only mask of innocence she had before her spirit was corrupted and she now dresses in dark colors. I love small costuming details like that especially when they show Mina and Vanessa on the beach with their contrasting black and white clothes.

I aboslutely love the fact that the clothing that is on display is actually the attire that we saw the extras wear during the ball scene taking place at Dorian Gray's mansion later on. This is an absolutely brilliant use of pre-existing clothing items for a television series because it is very economical and it allows for a much greater use of the materials. I was even able to spot the wardrobe designs from previous episodes as well, including Mina's wedding dress and Vanessa's lace frock night gown from episode four of season one, and I even found one of Madame Kali's/Evelyn Poole's dresses from season one, as well.

The white dress that Dr. F chose for Lily is lovely, and she's lovely in it. Dr. F appears to think so, as well...perhaps in a way he didn't expect. While some may find it creepy, I find it quite natural: after all, Dr. F knew her in her previous life, and he gave her a new life. There's a great deal of room for fascination, infatuation, and a heartbreakingly sad sort of love. Of course, Dr. F is treading on thin ice, already, because Caliban (John Clare) won't see the situation this way at all. Not only that, but in this sequence, he invites Vanessa to tea with he and Lily. I fear for Dr. F. As it is, he doesn't know that Vanessa and Caliban have met. That brings Vanessa closer to an aspect of Dr. F's life that so far has been kept away from the rest of the "crew." Vanessa is a toxic presence, whether she or anyone else is aware of it or not. Whatever she touches will eventually turn to dust. Tread(away) carefully, Dr. F.

Death was serious fashion business (one reason why it's so popular among Goths) and social law for the Victorians, especially in the high levels of society like Vanessa and Sir Malcolm; naturally, it was much stricter for females. For a woman who lost a parent or husband, she would be expected to wear full mourning for a year (only black or very dark grey), and half-mourning (only light grey or dark colors, like navy or the burgundy dress she wore in the 'seance' ep) for another year. For Vanessa to go out in public wearing anything lighter in color would be seen as disgraceful.
