He is indeed. I loved this series for it's intelligent writing and air of horror (sometime less is more - horror movie directorts take note!) I thought that last season went off the boil a bit. - As the series was cancelled they ahd to wind it up and went all apocalyptic on us and it ddidn't really work terrible well (imo)

Wish you would have included the seconds before this scene, when Mr. Chandler and Mr. Lyle meet for the first time. Mr. Lyle say, "Mr. Chandler, you are so very tall, you make me feel Lilliputian." Mr. Chandler says, "Mr. Lyle" Mr. Lyle, "An American! I am undone!!" That made me laugh for about ten minutes! I had to pause the show!

In my opinion Simon Russell Beale (the actor playing Lyle) was the most amazing actor on the show. Which is saying a lot considering every actor played their role perfectly.

The funniest thing about Lyle to me is the way he pronounces his R's like a Frenchman. Such a hilarious and period appropriate affectation that really says a lot about his character.

I've fallen in love with this show. When I first saw the previews for season one. I thought I had died and gone to my own heaven. I've never been pulled so deeply into a show before. Especially the emotionally vampiric style that Eva Green gives us. I was breathless through the entire season one. And now. I feel like I have exhaled. Lyle is so funny and so serious. Such a perfect mixture of mischief and an adoration of the literary arts. And that giggle about Chandlers Guns. Priceless! I hope this show goes on forever.

It sadly didn't get the recognition it truly deserved. If it weren't for a work colleague singing it's praises then it would probably have passed me by also... now it is my favourite TV show of all time. I have since returned the favour with another workmate & now he is hooked on PD too.

Mister Lyle is awesome haha, I love his flirtations with Ethan and I especially love how - despite his difficult position - he really came through for the heroes in season 2. I definitely hope he's a full-fledged member of the group in season 3!

Modern shows and movies like this look too fake, due to everything being shot digitally, and using CGI and green screen. There are simply too many computers involved.
