This is best defense I ever seen played on Penny, Penny missed shots but it was great matchup. I've seen Penny post up power fowards and score, maybe he over psyched himself with matchup but this how you tell if you great when you go at somebody just as good as you both ends. Today you really dont get that.

Wow I don’t think at the time I realized this was the beginning of Penny being hurt because I though he played well in 96-97 season and of course the 2 40 point back to back games in those 1 round playoffs against Miami

he had surgery, his knees held up but more followed as he never allowed himself to fully 100% healed. Rushed back early because the pressure from the organization and media, nike.......

dek boo those bands aren’t for fashion like his Penny band around his elbow. Those are specifically to relieve pressure and pain from your knees

The knee bands Penny was wearing were short, you can still see his legs. Against the Hawks like around game 4, Penny wore a huge black bandage that covered most of his left leg, obviously to try and suppress the cartilage tear.

He was still ok in the ECF series vs the bulls but Anderson 32% and scott 29% from the field in the series, there were 0 help for Shaq and Penny. :(

Both Penny and Grant were phenomenal players but Penny was just different from other players but not taking anything away from G.Hill he was cold too but Penny was slightly more explosive quicker and shifty Penny had that extra bounce💪🏾
