The Blood Ball was one of the coolest and original scenes i've seen. It was both terrifying and mesmerizing at the same time. It's amazing the production behind it. The cast and crew did a fantastic job with it.

Omg i loved that Blood Bath Ball scene :D just everything was disturbing and scary about that scene but what made it even more disturbing was it was a hallucination from Vanessa and everyone was just dancing and having a good time while blood was pouring in them. This show is very underrated and deserves more attention than it gets :).

This scene was magnificent. I even enjoy the small but obviously well thought out parts like when the dancers perfectly synchronized when crossing between Vanessa and Hecate. Don't worry we notice and love everything!

Why is SHOWTIME not campaigning for Eva Green at the Emmys?? She is literally nowhere in sight. They don't even have her do normal promo for the show like chat shows or what not. What a waste of arguably the greatest performance on television right now by any actor (male or female). Such a waste.

I got major It vibes from this once I realised nobody else could see the blood. This scene is still fresh in my memory. The fact that they made these outfits knowing they would have to be drenched really speaks to the dedication of the staff -- and it was totally worth it in the end. I'm very happy Dorian's (other) pictures were all okay in the end.

I saw it discussed and agree that the name of the show is the only thing holding it back. I'd like to see some kind of push from Showtime to really get the idea of this show out to people: a period piece with classic literature's vampires, werewolves, magic, witches, supernatural elements, debauchery and so on.

+Wayland C I think the title is perfect. The show has a strong basis on the horror material found in Penny Dreadfuls during the period and it sounds exotic so why not name it after that? It's a shoutout to educated audiences instead of "look it's a horror show and look there's vampires and werewolves!" I immediately think of B Grade horror movies, dodgy supernatural shows, and Twilight which isn't the sort of audience the show is after. While it would be great if more people watched, it really is a niche sort of show that'll probably grow in prestige as it goes on and hopefully will get discovered by more people. Trying to push it as a plain horror show would be a disaster because it would attract people who just wanted cheap blood and guts. Penny Dreadful has much more class. If it didn't I wouldn't watch it. At the same time it's a show that airs on a pay channel which makes it hard too and cuts out a large section of audiences. I only knew the show existed in Australia through one of the actors in it and I saw the DVD so decided I'd try it out to see if it was any good. In my experience the premise had me very confused as to what the show was even like and it was only when I actually watched it that it made sense.
