JFM thank you for saying that. I developed extreme rosacea and a butterfly rash from Lyme disease, when I used to have perfect porcelain skin. Now it’s very textured, red, and blotchy. The only thing I’ve admired about the skin change is how rosy my cheeks can look. You just made my day

In rural areas, probably yes. Life was unchanged for the poor until at least 1880s when mass production began .

Life wouldn't be much different between those times. Not until the industrial revolution would it change. The only things that changed were clothing and medicine. But the jobs were still the same basically. Doctor, shop owner, farmer, tailor, labor person and so on. Once the industrial revolution began, mass production and the middle class formed things changed.

Fair play to them. I remember trying on a genuine 1880s walking suit in the most beautiful mauve colour in a vintage shop in Dublin years ago. It fit me perfectly, and everyone in the shop commented on how elegant it looked. I felt so comfortable in it, that my mother literally had to talk me out of buying it since I was planning to walk around town wearing it, regardless of what year it is. I honestly regret that decision now. If it were today , I would have bought the thing regardless of what people think . If your soul alligns with something, there's a reason. Just go with it
