Never had anything from penon. The faceplate looks nice as well as the carry case.

Waiting for mine to arrive, should be here in a couple of days. I was debating with myself whther to go for the new Xenns mangird Tea Pro, but decided to give Penon a try, as I heard their midrange is sweat as honey :)

You should have gone for the H60.. 😅

@@eargasmic3060well tbh, I did not know about Penon or ISN until recently, some people over on Reddit and headfi had great reviews. If I’m going to like the Fan 3, there will be nothing to regret I guess. Anyway thanks for your insight!

I’ve since listened and returned the Fan 3 since it was a return window period. I LOVED those Penon vocals, but I also got the Hype 4 in the near same time and Hype 4 crushes the Fan in anything but the vocal treatment. Now I’m selling the Hype 4 as well as although jt is an amazing iem, it does not play my library the best. 90% of my stuff is vocal oriented, old rock, 70-80’s stuff, rock ballads, Dire straits, and such. I simply preffer tha natural timbre and warmth of Penon/Isn. Hype sounds somewhat unnatural in the vocals, like it’s it’s own version of reality. A bit honky, or nasal on some tracks. But O LOVE it’s bass wuality and delivery. I would like to have Hype 4 bass and technical capability with Penon/Isn mids. I wanted to buy the Penon 10th, but it is out of production, and some people suggested the ISn EST50/Sound Rhyme DTE500. H60 is also a cheaper option, but I’d like to try those est drivers and have an iem I’d settle for longer. What would be your suggestions? Also considering Xenns ma gird offerings, as they tune really well as well. Tea mk2 has tamed treble as well.

I will suggest you the H60, superb for vocals. Mangid tea was bass heavy and didn't had much control while the H60 has very good control with the lower end. I haven't tried the Tea 2 though. There is nothing that beats the H60 when it comes to vocal texture and resolution under $500. If you want to try an est based IEM, my recommendation will be Kinera Urd. Perfect for your requirements.

Been looking forward to this one! Very interested to hear how then BC driver changes the sound and the experience
@eargasmic3060Ай бұрын
BC does work reasonably, it can offer you the kind of viberation that no other and delivers an unique experience but the impact isn't huge and fit plays a huge part in BC experience. It has to be snug and tight.
@reflection1119Ай бұрын
@@eargasmic3060 Thank you. Do you know on which side of the shell the BC driver is positioned? Back, inner or outer side? Inner side would have the most contact with the ear. So I'm wondering what they have opted for.
@eargasmic3060Ай бұрын
Put it under a touch to look into, it's on upper side of inner shell.
@reflection1119Ай бұрын
@@eargasmic3060 nice! Thank you for checking and letting us know! Sounds like it's positioned similar to the Zempire. But maybe it's set at a different frequency (Zempire set theirs at 250hz)

BCD aren't a whole package, they are great for adding something extra that enhances the experience in a different way.

Thanks for your interesting review. I have the previous model, the Fan 2, and i love it for its cohernce and versatility.. If i want an upgrade in bass quantity / qualities and soundstage / imaging, what Penon / ISN model would you recommend? ISN EST 50, ISN H 60, PENON FAN 3, or maybe Tansio Mirai X? Thanks for you answer and keep up!
@eargasmic3060Ай бұрын
I will suggest you the H60, its has one of the best mid range, full and warm, deep subs and clean highs.

Regardless of the bone conduction, how it compares with the fan 2? Thanks 😊
@eargasmic306027 күн бұрын
It has overall better treble clarity and definition. While the BCD is good, it's not groundbreaking or anything like that. It's just an extra. It's more like the cherry on top, gives grandness to the notes.

Can you tell how good are the bass against fatfreq bass and how are the vocals against Variations or Other vocal strong iem thanks
@eargasmic3060Ай бұрын
If you want warmer, fuller vocals, get the H60, better cohesive, textured vocals than Variations or nearly any other IEM under $600. 2nd to only EJ07M. Fan 3 is V shaped and doesn't have the bass shelf of Fatfreq or vocals warmth, it has very good accuracy with better transparency. It's a better all-round performer.

The immersive experience with the holographic nature of the BC sounds wonderful, but I’m not getting any tactile feedback no matter if it’s snug. You’re the second person to mention they’re feeling vibrations while others just mention the holographic sound.

They do have a bit of vibe but it's not huge for sure. You are right, it definitely helps with the imaging.
