U have obviously never heard a Jason joshua mix.....I would say he's #1 rt now.......
@momnt29 жыл бұрын
I've heard a lot of Jason's work from Earl sweatshirt to beach is better (even Miley smh) dude's a beast but talking hip hop I just prefer Ali's style.
@pillzbe9 жыл бұрын
+{ADDICTED_TO_THE_MIX} has Jason been nominated for more than 11 Grammys based on his work? nope? convo over.
@olLOYALTYlo9 жыл бұрын
lmao recognition has nothing to do with quality... Just to make a point Ali is my fav engineer. his story alone inspires me...but Jasons' bass and kick technique is genius and his over all sound is flawless. Not to take anything away from Ali its just my opinion. look him up and compare mixes...Then get back to me.
@olLOYALTYlo9 жыл бұрын
bubsbeats ohhhhh ok I agree with you I miss understood your statement...I apologize....That miley song was flawless tho from an engineers prospective.......But, I do have a valid point....my apologies.....Ali is the best in Hiphop.......

Analog 2 Bus summing with gain, AD/DA conversion with an antelope word clock, then run it through your master bus with a transparent limiter plugin or a hardware limiter. Thats the secret chain. I dont know why all of this has to be such a big secret lol

+tj mack I wish I was past the basics of audio engineering to understand what you just said. :/
@AdamFiregate9 жыл бұрын
+TJ Mack I know several electronic producers with a 400 dollars speakers mixed and mastered all in the box creating great music. Also Andrew Scheps mobile setup has a 99 dollar Sony 7506 and an Apollo doing excellent stuff. No need for gold gear. If you got the ears and experience. So it CAN be done without winning the lottery. www.redbullmusicacademy.com/lectures/andrew-scheps-lecture therecordingrevolution.com/2016/02/08/the-day-iconic-mixer-andrew-scheps-ditched-his-console-for-a-laptop/
@MadACeTeeMack9 жыл бұрын
+AdamFiregate so you are trying to tell me that you do not need a word clock for a final mixdown? you do not need a word clock and DA AD conversion for mastering. No transformers from SSL board mixing back into pro tools either? Explain please because all the hit makers I know do this.
@MadACeTeeMack9 жыл бұрын
+AdamFiregate the only way to achieve 3D track separation is from ADAT word clock technology. To achieve true analog punch you would need a mixing board with great transformers such as an SSl. These are the facts. Most EDM music is not up to par mix and mastering wise versus mainstream professional commercial tracks. All you have to do is an A/B comparison. if it was that easy, all the equipment that I discussed would have been thrown in the trash. You can't replace 1 and 0s with real time recording. real time recording will win every time, just ask any pro Grammy winning and hit making engineer.
@AdamFiregate9 жыл бұрын
Andrew Scheps also said that on commercial stuff not just me :) and he is fully in the box

Thats crazy when he asked what music they listened to as a kid I started thinking about mine & lynyrd skynyrd and was thinking I dont even know about their mixes and then they mentioned em and now I gotta go back and try to listen to the mixes on some of my favorite songs that I never thought about in that light.

for a mix like mike deans you can use Fabfilters Pro L limter PLUS slate digitals FG-X limter. yes both of them just like mike threw in there on the sly. 2 Limiters on the master chain. Most likely why he barely needs mastering after his mixes. I've studied mikes mixes and im always referencing them. The fabfilter Pro L limter is great with controlling transients and the FG-X limter from slate is very great with volume boosting without losing clarity. use the pro L right before the FG-X in the master chain. shits beast. its the closest I get to a mike dean sound. @9KDN9 on instagram. kyor gyoti on soundcloud

Funny. notice how Dave chuckles after Ali said how it was easy to mix Mary j vocals in Now or Never because of the tracking engineer. I remember when he first had Ali for Gkmc he bragged about how he was the best engineer to mix her vocals. You guys need to get Juro Mez on here. J Coles engineer. He literally mixed every project
