The E95s is my second gold nibbed pen. First was a Pilot Vanishing Point. I love how it writes and the vintage look. It is a wonderfully smooth writer. I highly recommend it and is a good value. I also bought a vintage Pilot Elite, the precursor to the E95s. Some people need ink window, I've never been one to care. I also love how smoothly the pen caps. I seem to have my champagne and burgandy E95 s filled with Diamine Writers Blood, just love that pen.

Totally right! The E95s is my first and only gold nib and is amazing. Now I’m going to buy a vanishing point for note taking

Hi Kerri! I had this pen on my “Pens to buy” list. After acquiring 30+ pens, I reduced my list drastically! Now it’s basically a grail pen list! It was hard not keeping this one on the list, and it may one day jump back on it. But for now, I’m good! But truth be told it’s very tempting and this positive review isn’t helping! 😂. Thanks again! God bless you!

Love this pen, also in a medium. I usually use a refilled cartridge in this pen rather than a converter. With that, it's easy to see the ink level.
@wittwittwer1043Ай бұрын
I have two Pilot E95s, a F one in black, and a burgundy in M. Mine have "Elite" on the cap because I got them directly from Japan; "E" designates pens sold in the US. For me, the F is too fine; the M is Goldilocks, "just right." I use cartridges in my Pilots, including the VPs. Kerry is correct about seeing the ink level if you use a converter, but if you point the nib up with a cartridge pen you can see the ink level in the cartridge. I refill empty cartridges with a syringe.

The Pilot E95S is a fantastic pen. Totally underrated. I bought mine during a visit to Montreal. The shop owner was a big fan of the E95S and was very interested in talking about the pen.

I have had my eye on the E95s for a bit, it is such a gorgeous pen. While I don't have one, I have a 1970s Elite and it is my main pen, the Script nib on it is wonderful. I also have a 1970s Sailor Pocket Pen, a later version from the company that introduced the style in 1963. Also have a 1960s Platinum Pocket Pen. The Pilot and Platinum can exchange caps and barrels. A little history, Sailor came out with the style in 1963 as an answer to mens fashion in Japan of small shirt pockets. Platinum then followed in late 1963 or early 1964 with their version, then Pilot followed later in the 1960s. Only pilot has taken the chance on bringing this style back and they have done a beautiful job.

Firstly I love your content. I rarely comment as I watch KZbin on my smart TV so it isn't easy to comment. This is just to give you a bit of a boost on the YT algorithm. Re the E95S. I bought one last month following several good reviews and a great price online of £75. I love the pen. It's design is good apart from the converter so I syringe fill a cartridge. Mine is M and in Burgundy Keep the videos coming please! How about some more paper reviews?

I have the burgundy E95S and love it so much I'm considering getting the black in the other nib size. I love the capping and posting, and the writing experience is awesome! I use converters in all my other pens, but in this one I syringe-fill a cartridge so I can see at least some indication of the ink level. Thanks for your great content!

I absolutely adore this pen. It was on my maybe someday list, then I found a deal on it at a pen show and didn't pass it up. I love the vintage look, it feels amazing in my hand and it's the smoothest writing pen I own. Definitely a 15/10.

Hello! I’ve had my E95 for about four or five years, and I really like the way it writes. The pen fits perfectly in my pocket, and was a great find. I use cartridges because I have tried two different converters with not so great results, and gave up on using them. I have the fine pnib and it works great for what I need it to do. I am contemplating getting a black model with the medium nib to see how it works for what I need.
@davidnygard1817Ай бұрын
I agree, this is a terrific pen, especially to open, close and post. Oh, and it is a great writer. I have two fine point E95S pens. Must have better luck as these just kick ass on paper. This is not a springy gold nib, but it just lays down ink in such a satisfying way. To top it off, this pen is only a bit more expensive that purchasing a stand alone #6 gold nib without the pen. If this had a larger ink capacity, it would be a universal go to pen. Still, it always seems to be inked and used. Thank you for the review.

I love this pen definitely my go to for everything from drawing to writing. People do complain about the size of the ink cartridge but if you know how it completely fill it it's not an issue
@SimiLoraineАй бұрын
I love my two E95s pens. They are smoother and more "bouncy" than I expected, for extra fine nibs. My black one has DeAtrementis Blackberry ink; and, my burgundy one has DeAtrementis Raspberry ink. I adore these combinations; and, will probably keep them until I run out of the inks. Then, I'll probably pair them with Diamine's Onyx Black and Writer's Blood.

Thanks for the review as always. Drew from Goulet pens raves about this pen. It’s definitely a good looking pen but what puts me off is the size. I feel like it’s in between a pocket pen from other brands and a full size pen. Perhaps if I get to try one one day I’ll change my mind 😊

I so wanted to love the E95S. I adore inlaid nibs and I think the look is so elegant. So, I bought one. It wrote beautifully. Such a nice bouncy nib. Alas, it was light as a feather and that just did not work for me. I sold it and the new owner seemed very happy. If you don’t mind light pens, this one is a dream.

Although my pen-list is as short as the distance from Sun to Earth, E95 stands as one of my grail pens. I adore its style and i'm super curious about the gold nib experience, the Pilot Pen experience and the unique-ish shape experience. I hope one day I can afford a EF or F, and I will probably keep watching reviews of it even after purchase (if that ever happens). I totally agree, its a criminally underrated pen, probably from being grouped in the pocket pens category?

I have had my e95s, the burgundy in fine, for 3 years. I was attracted to it by the vintage look. I wish I had purchased it sooner. I think it is the least expensive gold nib pen on the market. My only complaint with Pilot is their tiny converters. I just refill their cartridges.

The Pilot Elite is one of the first gold nibbed pens I owned, and it is wonderful in so many ways. The shape, the loooong cap, the way it posts and gets full of size like a big old bunch of bigger pens. This has been described as a pocket pen, but hey, folks, most of the clothes designed for women don't have pockets anyhow, maybe so our contours are shown off for males. Can you say "Ick"? I knew you could. So if I rarely take it out of the house when it's inked, good for the Pilot peeps, good for me, good for Bob Speerbrecher, who sold it to me back when. Thanks for the good review, and do not stop for some mechanical artificial intelligence nonsense, please?
@tawallah77Ай бұрын
I have one. Initially I wasn’t expecting how light it would have been and can’t used for long writing sessions. Switched from converter to cartridge and for some reason writing with it daily.

I am lovinggg the re-reviews. I dont know why u have the funk though :( It could be the thumbnails. maybe put the pen on parker and see how it does. Oh u have to put a thumbnail with parker pen and parker cat. a tail in the frame would be fine too. Jk I really want to know what ink u want to buy next if u finish a said bottle. Which will prompt u to tell me what bottles u have left. I just have pilot kakuno and the flow and crispiness of the nib. My God I am in love. that is what love is. Hehehe I love preppy too but kakuno is my baby. I am biased towards pilot heheh.

This is one of my favorite pens. I got it in an extra fine, and it made me fall in love with extra fine. Now it comes with the Con-40., which is an awful, awful converter. I did the opposite of you , and got the B “squeeze” converters, which feel a little risky, leakages-wise, but, so far, I haven’t had a problem. With the squeeze converter, I can at least see if the ink is in there to begin with. Smooth writer and a gorgeous line.
@johndevault9030Ай бұрын
I do not own, and have never used the E95S, however I have acquired several of the Pilot Elites from the 1970's on which the E95S is based. The are great pens, and the nibs have a very nice bounce. However, I like my Custom 74's better. I also have a couple of Sailor and Platinum pens that look similar to the Pilot Elites, and the nicest one is the Platinum with a 21k gold nib.

The E95 was my wife's 1st gold nib pen. First pen that cost more than 25 bucks actually, and she loves it! She chose it for the vintage aesthetic, plus the good reviews I'm sure. She's actually hesitant to buy other pens because she compares them to the E95 and they all fall short for her.

The Elite 95S (I got it through Amazon and is from Japan) is my only EF pen and I bought it as one of my first gold nib pens. I have learned to love it and use it with my A6 work planner. I use a cartridge for it which I refill. I'm not a fan of the pilot converters.
@catwhisperer911Ай бұрын
You have always produced interesting content and it upsets me that you are struggling with KZbin's algorithm. I think one way to score higher would be, and please don't take this as an insult, is if you would interact more with your viewer's' comments. Regarding the E95S, I would love to see Pilot make that into a new model as a full size pen. That nib on a full size pen would be outrageous, especially if the pen would accommodate the CON70 converter. They actually had done this years ago but removed that pen from their catalog. Why I don't know but yea, I'd drop the dime on one in a heartbeat if they did offer it.
@awaken77Ай бұрын
The pen is of interesting and unique design, but I can't use for long writing sessions. It's too thin and my hand is cramped. I use it only as note-taking tool. It fits good into small purse to take notes while in travel. Also, Fine version is a bit dry, but I compensated it by using lubricated inks.
