Pentair Superflow VS EXT CONTROL ONLY Light Fix

A common issue with the Pentair Superflow VS variable speed pump is the Ext Control Light to on when this happens you can't run the pump. In this video I show you how to disable it so you can properly run the pump.

Thank you, the manual is absolutely worthless for this issue. Tells you to hold stop/start button for 3 seconds, but neglects to tell you to push button once before the 3 second hold. Frustrating! Your instructions worked perfectly.

Thank you soooo much! Our pump hadnt been running the past 3-4 days and I noticed that the water looked cloudy and checked the pump and it had been 1 hr since it should had started. Thats when I noticed the Ext. Control Only light was on, which I never see it on. I googled the issue, found you and BAM! problem solved! I was thinking I was about to spend a few grand to have it fixed - so THANK YOU THANK YOU! Do you happen to know why the light for Ext. Control only turns on? Im assuming this means that an external controller is connected and it uses that instead of the controls on the pump?

The real fix is to put a single speed motor on that pump, no more issues.
