I wonder what younger listeners make of Pentangle. For me they are iconic. I can't think of anyone like them.

I discovered them backwards- from Renbourn's solo work- my absolutely favorite band. And I am far from a Folkster.

Thanks for putting these up. Colin. I was lucky enough to see them in their early years, on their slightly depleted reunion at the Cambridge Folk Festival in the 80s, and on their final tour. Always perfect. RIP Bert and John.

They appeared at Greenhead park 1974 as part of the Kirklees International festival. It was poor weather so one of the organisers Andy Speechley suggested to Pentangle that we go to the Matins Nest in Brighouse and carry on there, which they did. Any one remember?

It wouldn't have been 1974 - they split in early 1973, having performed last in late 1972. You must be thinking of the John Renbourn Group (John, Jacq and others) in 1974.

May I respectfully ask about this tantalising comment: "That reunion of the original Pentangle and its 1982 predecessor, will be celebrated in a future Cherry Tree box set."
