Thank you so much for this. I love the way that you contextualized the pentatonic scales from several different perspectives -- because that's what music is all about, after all: relationships, allusions. This has given me so much food for thought as a student of music, despite the fact that I've never touched a guitar.

I haven't watched the proceeding 2 videos but I wanted to say thank you for taking the time to explain this. you filled in the holes I knew I had and uncovered at least as many thing I need to understand more completely. I'll be watching a lot of your channel I think.

You know, I, like countless other learning guitarist, started with the major pent scale. At first, it's all 1-4, 1-3, 1-3, 1-3,1-4, 1-4. Then you go with the harmonic minor, and between those two, you can do just about anything your heart desires.

Are you spelling the blues scale with repeating alphas (E,Eb) in error, or avoiding enharmonic confusion, or is the blues scale a singular case where this is permitted? Very insightful presentation; thank you for sharing.

I follow your rationale; thank you for the reply.

This is not confusing at all, of course, for anybody that has studied some music before. Imagine being in the cockpit of a Boeing 747. An endless amount of knobs all over the place would seem very confusing and scaring for anybody without the knowledge but, obviously, not for the Captain.

This lesson didn't make a bit of sense to me, until you mentioned that the guitar was tuned in an E scale and why the blues was so easy to play in E.......... Face+palm=duh

Music theory is Bollocks. Why call a note Dbb when you could easily call it C? iT IS JUST TOO CONFUSING!!!
