I was so thrilled to see you had uploaded this reaction, because I knew how much you would appreciate it and enjoy it.. so I clicked that link fast! I was right! I'm so glad you realizated that this IS acapella..no instruments. I still find it mind blowing what these 5 people set out to do, and that they actually pull it off! They've put their ideas to the test and have produced material that has netted them 3 Grammy Awards, Gold and Platinum selling albums and even bumped a brilliant artist like Demi Lovato from that 1st place spot on the Billboard charts when they released their Self-Titled, Original Album! Then, They put out, of all things to be massively successful, a Christmas Album that crossed onto the Billboard Pop Charts to knock Taylor Swift's new Album out of her spot! WHAT?! I love how unique this group is and am constantly blown away by the fact that they keep blowing me away. I often forget there's no instruments playing when listening to their work on digital music and CD's. Then I get that amazed feeling all over again. That shout out you gave me waz unexpected and so sweet! Thank you so much! You are so upbeat in your personality, and the way you are so appreciative of the viewers is really nice! It's so good to be able to visit and enjoy a happy person's channel during a time when there's so much sadness, anger and fear everywhere I look. Thank you!

Welcome to us Pentaholics. There are a lot of stuff they have done. They won the Sing Off back in 2011. They have won three Grammys. Two of the guys Mitch and Scott have a separate thing called Superfruit. They all are extremely talented, basically there is no weak link and that is why they are so good.

Great reaction! It is all their voices, and yes you figured out that Avi(bearded guy) does the low notes.He has a very wide range. Occasionally Kevin(beat boxer) plays the cello in a few of their songs. They actually won season 3 of the show The sing off. It was all a Capella groups. Any of their videos are amazing to watch. Daft Punk is a really awesome video in which they won a Grammy for. As for Kirstie, everyone male and female will agree with you on her beauty. She was actually on Broadway with the show Kinky Boots a couple of years ago.

Yes, they are totally a capella. The occasionally add the beatboxer's cello (nicknamed Beyonce) to their songs. Kevin (the beatboxer), does something called celloboxing, where he plays the cello and beatboxes at the same time. They did double track the beat boxing on this song b/c the rhythm was so complicated. However, all sounds are made by Kevin. He recorded the beat track first and then added the cymbols in the final cut. Yes, it's Avi Kaplan (the fellow with the beard), that does the bass. Occasionally when Avi sings the lead, Scott (the blond) covers the bass. All their vocal ranges are 3-4 octaves. Also, the megaphone Mitch used during the guitar solo was used only for appearance. When they do this live, he doesn't use the megaphone and it still sounds the same.

A lot of Queen songs have a theatrical flair but Bohemian Rhapsody is probably their most theatrical song. Pentatonix can do any music genre. As you continue to check them out, you'll see them tackle rock, pop, R&B, hip hop, rap, country, classical, instrumental, K-pop, EDM, music theatre, and every type of Christmas music out there. ;1

They're acapella which means every single of their song is all based in harmonies, not instruments (there are a few exceptions but 97% of their songs are acapella). What differs them from any other famous acapella bands that were before them is the beat and bass part which makes their music modern (acapella is oftenly associated with churches and choirs, they changed it forever)

PTX (easier than Pentatonix) won the 2011 season of the "Sing Off", an NBC (US TV Network) A Capella talent show. Not really a "game" show. More like "American Idol". They won $200,000 and a record deal. But the record label dropped them right after they moved to L.A. They brought their work to You Tube and started building an audience. They became sensations and signed with a new record label. They have sold millions of records and won 3 Grammy's (So far). Grammy's are the music industry's highest honor. Some people were saying being dropped by the Sony label was a blessing in disguise bc PTX would otherwise be bound by demands of the label. The way it went was they had the best opportunity to show their talents and creativity. Yes, the girl, Kirstin Maldonado, or Kirstie, is really beautiful. No instruments! Occasionally there is a cello , violin,,piano BUT it is front and center not hidden . They all have incredible rages 4 + octaves. . You might want to listen to 'dance of the Sugar plum fairy'. No words ,no instruments. They won a grammy for it.

This group is a three time Grammy award winners. The guy with the beard is the bass, deep voice, he is no longer with the group left about a yr ago. He was replaced by a great singer named Matt. React to John Lennon Imagine. They completed on a singer show like American Idol. Another group you need to listen to is Voice Play, especially when they do nightmare before Christmas.

The two guys in front at the beginning are the bass and beatboxer. They work together to do sounds that just blow your mind. Exactly, it really does seem like the video reflected their career a bit with them starting and ending on the couch, with all the fun in the middle. Love your reactions, I can tell you're a hockey fan, lol. Kevin (P.K. Subban lookalike) has his own channel with some cool covers and originals. He doesn't sing on his own much with Pentatonix because he focuses on the beatboxing but on his own channel he sings and plays the cello more.

Well not a game show, it was a singing competition show, The Sing Off. They had A Capella groups compete to win a record contract and $200,000. Pentatonix was put together by Scott to compete. The trio, Scott (blonde guy), Mitch (dark hair guy) and Kirstie (girl) have known each other since they were little and have been in choir and theater together, they brought in Kevin (beatboxer) and Avi (bass) to fill out their sound. Fun fact: they were only able to meet and rehearse for one day before their audition for the show. You should react to their season 3 performances if you want to see how they grew into the tight knit vocal band you see now.

I am definitely a Pentaholic! If you watch Queen, you'll see that they did the flashlight thing originally. Bohemian Rhapsody is a rock opera, thus the production feel. 3 of them have been friends since the age of 10 and singing together.. Avi is the base.. he left the group in 2017 for personal reasons. Now they have Matt as base but Scott (tall blonde) is a baritone and fills in the lows when Avi or Matt sings a solo. Please react to Sound of Silence.. You will love Daft Punk!!!

Just to confuse you the bearded deep voice guy - Avi and the beatboxer Kevin together are the rhythm section. Avi will back him up and do some of the percussion sounds as well as just the bass and in this song the bass guitar. When he isn't singing that is 🙂
