As you will soon discover on your Sing Off reactions, Pentatonix refused to rap on Hip Hop Week because they didn't think they could. Happily, by Can't Hold Us, they discovered they indeed could! Well...everyone except Avi. He has always been the first to admit that rapping is not in his repertoire! For some reason, I really LOVE nerdy Kirstie in this one. She reminds me of the girl in high school that no one ever pays attention to, then she shows up at the high school reunion looking like a super model.

I may have already suggested this to you, but if so, I'm still going to mention it again. You need to react to Avi's solo original work. The one most reactors begin with is "Change on the Rise", released in March 2019, currently at over 9 million views. He does all the vocal layering in it, as well as the sounds except for just a bit of organ and tambourine in the bridge. It's a powerful song with a powerful message. One amusing reactor even said the song boosted his testosterone level, lol.

You need to see the Behind the Scenes Video! It is a Blast. One of the things I love about PTX is their evolution. In this video each of them wore their "style" of clothes when front and center and the others in the back row wore that style too. Seeing Mitch's style be preppy/nerdy to his current avant guarde/bleeding edge of fashion is kind of mind blowing. Even Scoti's transition from sporty boy to his suit game now! Of course great reaction.

I'm trying to imagine sitting in the editing chair, with at least five complete videos of this song, cutting and splicing and keeping it in pace with the song. Holy cow - just THINKING about it exhausts me. Costume changes I could track: Sunday best (Kevin in white) Scott rap (leopard sleeves) Kirstie and the cool gang (on the steps) Avi on the bluff (he's an absolute beast!) Mitch and team Nerd (in glasses) (good grief - check out Scott's lime green bow tie!) (I'm literally afraid to mention Kevin's outfit here...) Ever since you watched the Wizard of Ahhs, my sidebar has started throwing up some Todrick Hall videos. The album "Straight Outta Oz" was themed, with every cut in some fashion incorporating something from the Oz story. I can highly recommend "Lyin' To Myself" - it's just staggering. The comment section declared (often) that it was about toxic masculinity. Not sure about that but the song, the voice (omg, the VOICE), the costumes and the choreography are incredible.
