SlimySnekBoi ÙWÚ Asl (American Sign Language) is the language of the Deaf Community. It is an actual language that has its own syntax, grammer and idioms. PSE (Pidgin Sign English) is a signing system that uses ASL signs in English word order

I'm new to the ASL community and I was wondering what is PSE?

PSE is Pidgeon Signed English. It's different than SEE (Signed Exact English) which signs words like, "to" and "do". PSE excludes those words, but still uses English sentence structure. For example, if I say, "The dog walks to the store." in English, it would be different. In PSE, I would sign "Dog walks-to store." Walks-to would be a classifier though which means you would sign walk, but in a specific direction. It's kind of confusing, but... hope that helps. (If you didn't figure it out already. It's been a month since this comment. 😂)

SantaClaus HawkeyeNJ pidgin signed English. It’s asl and the English grammar kinda mixed together. It goes ASL which has its own grammar, then SEE or signed exact English which is signed exactly like the English language. Then PSE which is in the middle.

Lys May Thank you so much Lys! I waited over 3 months for an answer from Anissa. On top of that, still no answers to my pleads of help to Anissa from last Christmas! Some KZbin creators when they get big, ignore the little people that got them there. However someone will move in to fill that void and views go "poof". Sorry for the rant. The only time you need to pay for the courses is if you need to be certified. It’s promising and I learned most of my signing on this website. Dominic Gaul so I know some sign language and I was having a hard time seeing the difference in what he was signing to normal ASL. Is there some specific examples you could cite in how it’s “pidginized”?

The only diff between ASL and PSE is the grammar, really, the signs are the same. Because...I think his name is Wesley, is only signing short sentences there is no difference [after all there are only so many ways to say a single sentence] but a specific example would be how he actually nodded instead of signed nodded [but that just might be a specific translation choice he made for clarity's sake.] TL;DR: the difference is grammar and when signing a song you can't tell the difference, you would need to have a full conversation to notice the grammar differences since the signs are the same
