Yep, now we're talking. One of my three favorites from the competition. Some people have slightly different lists, but now I have to wait for you to get to #10. Avi had won a capella competitions before and while the show made a big deal of them psyching themselves out - and Mitch's dad has talked about how badly the competition messed with his anxiety - it's been said that Avi was confident they could win the entire time. He scouted the competition and told them they had a real chance at it.

I could see this being true! Sometimes when you're good you KNOW, especially because, Avi knew that they didn't just have the vocal talent, but they had arranging talent as well, which mattered a TON in the Sing-Off, IMO. Glad to hear that most of the stress is amped for drama, even if that's a frustrating reality of reality tv.

In Superfruit's video where they react to PTX's Sing Off performances, Scott says that this was his favorite song they did, but that they were all very mad. That may have had to do with some of the pressure the producers and NBC had been putting on them in regard to downplaying Mitch's parts (not knowing at that point that Scott is also gay). The group stood solidly behind Mitch and their anger actually added an element of power to their performance.

I knew they had cut all reference to LGBTQIA+ from the Trevor Project stuff, but I didn't realize that they were trying to downplay Mitch. I'd have been pissed off, too. But I love that they took their anger and put it into the song. And I love that the judges called out Mitch's voice multiple times over the season.

This was the turning point. This performance was when the other groups starting to think, oh crap we’re going to lose. 😂 This is also a great performance to show their evolution and their confidence build over time. Kevin, Scott and Mitch can rap, and they know it now. 😉

I saw this season off and on and let me say... PENTATONIX was setting the bar SUPER HIGH! they had less members and were the youngest! I'm SO PROUD OF THEM!!!☺☺☺

I've watched all episodes of season 3 and I think what you're talking about there at the end of your video is exactly why they won. There were groups there that were every bit as entertaining as Pentatonix. The difference was that those other groups all had one or two standout performer and then the rest of the group just backed them up. But with Pentatonix. they are all so talented that each one could stood out and that's what gives them such a full sound. Like my favorite member is Avi and I can't not hear him when I'm listening to one of their songs. Great reaction. I am really enjoying your reactions to The Sing Off. The best is yet to come.

I was a fan of the show since the 2nd season, so I watched this performance the night it originally aired and as good as PTX were in the previous weeks, this was the one that I knew pushed them into the forefront. Also keep in mind that there were other really good groups on the show this season, despite what some other Pentaholics will tell you. But when you get to it, I’ll let you know which performance actually won them the competition and it’s not the 12th/last one lol.

I believe with my whole heart that from this performance on the other groups got realllllly nervous..PTX at this point on was a huge force to be reckoned with!! This is the performance I was talking about, in my last comment, as the first of the performances where you can see the Pentatonix we all know and love today. You hear every voice individually, you can pick out each persons part, but it all blends together to make something greater than its parts. The emotion, the intensity, the tight working of Kevin and Avi... And, this follows them to this day. I was a fan of PTX from performance one on the Sing Off, but this one...this one left me speachless for a few minutes, trying to process what I'd just heard. Even then all I could say to my GF at the time was that I liked the performance. I had to go and listen to the original song to get a meter stick to measure just what PTX had done with the song. THEN I was truly impressed. I was thrilled to see your reaction to this one. The excitement you showed before the song started, the anticipation. Then, once the performance started, the sheer joy of the performance took over, and I got to relive my first experience with it, too. That's why I like watching reaction videos in the first place, and you, especially, and especially with PTX, take me back to that first time experience. Thank you, D, for all the hard work you put into these videos. They're worth it, IMO.

Great reaction! On these shows, each group is only given 2 minutes onstage, so most of the songs seem shortened and cut, but they still put into it everything they can for those 2 minutes! I love Kirstie's little fist in her pink jacket being shoved up in the air. You can tell how much they all wanted this. FYI, some weeks, especially when they have 2 songs to do in one show, they don't do an outtake, but when they do, it's fun to see. Keep 'em coming!

I just watched this reaction and loved your smile. I just watched Friends On The Other Side for the 1st time with you. You encourage me to give groups a 2nd chance. I have a tendency to stop watching them if I start with a cover I don't like. One of the things I love about PTX is I like some of their covers better than the originals. Keep the music coming.
