I'm mainly a metal guy, have been my entire life. I get a lot of grief from my friends for talking about this group all the time but I don't care. Every member brings something different and incredible but when they put it all together, it fits like a jigsaw puzzle into something even more incredible. A pure demonstration of how amazing the human voice can be.

I'm fairly sure a Christmas song isn't going to win an award, but simply as music, this rendition is the very best there is. I join you in a standing O. Kirstin's note at the end blew open my floodgates. I might get emotional, and have my body fill with chills, but to be so completely overwhelmed is new to me. 5 spectacular voices. From what I’ve read about Matt, he grew up in the church, where his father is a preacher. I know he thought to himself “I better get it right, or dad’s not going to be happy.” The emotion really showed. He blew it away. Quite frankly, I like his voice better than Avi. Don’t kill me for saying that. Matt has a smooth voice.

Hi Louise!!! You MUST see them in concert. I travelled to Phoenix (7+ hour drive) to see PTX in September 2023. It was a night concert in an outdoor amphitheater, but the temps were 110°+. PTX rocked for the ENTIRE SHOW and didn’t slow down or miss a beat. 100% MUST SEE CONCERT-PENTATONIX!

They were in Columbia SC on December 1st. I counted days until that day. My granddaughters gave me a ticket for Christmas (great girls). The show was incredible. Even better because it was the Christmas show. I’m an old lady (74) but it was one of the greatest experiences of my life.

They were in SC on December 1. I had to travel 3 miles to see them. Like yourself, I would have driven to ChArlotte NC (100 plus miles to see their Christmas show. Incredible show.

I have been lucky enough to have seen them 4 times in concert. 1st time in 2017 on Avi's last tour and then 2 more regular tours with Matt and finally got to see a Christmas tour in 2023. Love it, your reaction and their performance too. I think this really showcases their maturing voices - a power and emotion they had to grow into. From what I can tell (not that I’m even close to being an expert), masking the visuals of the video can go a long way toward avoiding copyright problems from the label (not the band). You can use a filter, adjust the transparency of the video or rig a floating logo or something. Seriously, we’ve seen these videos a bunch of times and we understand what it may take to get one to post. I’m here to celebrate your reaction to music I love, so as long as you can see, we’re good. Hi louise! I acrually listened to what you ask! Yes its their greedy record label, but my opinion is ita also youtube bc remember ptx started their career there (not counting sing off bc they didnt become famous and atarted winning grammies until they made diy videos on youtube. So i think they are hyper security conscious. I love also how ptx understands the power of pulling back just as much as the belt. And if youve noticed the one that sings in the ailence is mostly mitch. I think because of the uniqueness of his voice, his ability to pronounce every word perfectly, his counter tenor-ness, but bc some element of his voice can draw the emotion out like no one else. Kevin is second because hes got a sweet voice and one we dont hear much. He doesnt have the power of the others but his voice is striking in its cadence, pitch but also sweetness and innocence. He can go higher than mitch in falsetto (though in truth i dont think we know how high or low mitch can go) but thats falsetto. Falsetto literally translates to false because it means its outside the natural range, which js why when you hear it you can tell its not natural and they have to strain visibiy to reach it. Now mitch as a counter tenor has a much higher natural range. So he doesnt have to flip to falsetto until after soprano. Thats why he can go higher than kirstie and can sing notes up with celine. Naturally. Thata why he does it effortlessly. Take a good look. That "boy" is a rare one. Youll likeky never hear another like him..also dont you think theres a quality to mitch that reminds of Eva Cassidy? I know youve reacted to and loved her music too. U should brinf her back and do a few more of her songs.

Thank you Louise. Sony is terrible to reactors. PTX likes reactors. I heard they have signed on with someone else so maybe that will improve in the future. This is the best version of this song I have heard. The first time I heard it I was just stunned into silence. I could not think or speak for a few minutes. Now it just brings tears to my eyes everytime. Especially in Matt's part and at the end when Kirstin is belting. The core strength she had to have to hold those last notes is substantial. This was not their usual Wall of Sound. This was a Tsunami or an Avalanche.

Also, I'm sure I'm not the first one to tell you this, but many people who react to PTX and don't have a problem with copyright will typically make the video transparent and/or put some sort of logo or even the word 'Copyright' over it. And, they don't even have to pause. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Remember, we're here for your reaction. I don't know that anyone is here watching the video for the first time. So even if the video is distorted, transparent, or has some wording over it, we're okay with it. We want to see your reaction to the video the way we saw it for the first time - without all the stops and restarts.
