I strongly recommend their new recording of "O Holy Night," from this album; I think it's Grammy-worthy. Also, as someone else has already mentioned, you will LOVE their rendition of "O Come All Ye Faithful."

I second that! Oh Come All Ye Faithful is not your everyday Christmas song and it should be sung like this. PTX is way beyond they're years and the gateway to todays Acappella music. No instruments needed! However Kevin is a musical genius and plays the chello once in awhile. You will see it when there is an instrument. His chello-boxing is superb! In they're more recent Christmas albums they use some instruments when featuring artists collaborate. Thanks for your reaction. Subbed for more PTX!

Kirstie passed out gifts when they were sitting at dinner together, but they were joke gifts and the jokes fell flat. Then after dinner they get their real gifts. And sure enough, there IS a kiss underneath the mistletoe; Scott gets it, from his new puppy. 😆😍

This one's almost as addictive as Sing ( another original they did around 2015(?)) that one was a fan fave! They posted the music for the chorus to their fans on YT and asked them to do a little video of themselves to include in the main video. It's a really catchy tune and fun video.

Pentatonix makes a group decision about who will sing lead on what before they start their arranging process for each song. On the originals it seems the co-writers get first chance. They have all co-written original songs for the group, and they always collaborate with other pop songwriters / producers. And they do the arrangements as a group, working with their sixth member, Ben Bram, who also produces a lot of their songs.

Love this song and the video is so cute with Kirstin being the Christmas fairy. I've read that she was sick the day of filming for the video, so they came up with this scenario to avoid her being with the rest of them and infecting them.

They're running low on Christmas songs they haven't already recorded, so this year's album, "Pentatonix: The Greatest Christmas Hits" is primarily songs from some of their earlier albums. The re-recorded "O Holy Night" to feature Matt, who's spectacular in it, and they wrote some new Christmas songs of their own, like this one.

Kevin is the beatboxer (also plays cello), Matt is the bass, Mitch is the counter tenor and Scott (tall blond) is the baritone who also covers bass when Matt has the lead. Kirstie and Mitch change their looks a LOT, so don't be confused.

Yes, this is an original written by Kirstie and Kevin. Apparently, she was ill on the day to film the music video, so they reworked it such that she is the Christmas fairy.

Yes, this is original and yes, it's one of the best Christmas songs already lol You definitely need to check out their version of 'O Come All Ye Faithful' and 'Mary, Did You Know?' While 'The Prayer' may not technically be a Christmas song, it was released on one of their Christmas albums (and Celine Dion's version was released on her Christmas album too), that one is definitely worth a watch!

I recommend " Amazing Grace" it starts with Matt ( their Bass), but it really highlights Kirsty's part. Then I would also recommend " The making of their EverGreen album" it's from last year, and it's about 15 minutes long. But you will get to see how they work and arrange things together.

Please listen to Oh Come All Ye Faithful. Their catalog is huge and they all are good. Mr. Grinch. Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy. ( from the Ballet Nutcracker. No lyrics. No instruments) 12 days of Christmas. Really anything you pick you will enjoy.

Kirstie was 19 when Pentatonix got their start in 2011; she is now 31 years old and had a baby about a year and a half ago. Something would be wrong if her figure weren't more mature now than in those early videos.

Loved this reaction too. I am loving this song more and more. Her name is Kirstin (she goes by Kirstie rhymes with thirsty). Kevin is beatboxer Bass is Matt Tall blonde is Scott Countertenor with great mustache is Mitch (my favorite) Keep those PTX songs coming. 12 Days of Christmas as you’ve never imagined it 💕

They take old Christmas songs and turn them upside down - try Oh Come All you Faithful, Kid on Christmas, Oh Holy Night - they are the best at Christmas music. And yes, you can tell they really love each other and are a family.

I agree...Kirstie brings so much emotion to the songs, as well as her amazing voice. Check out "Be My Eyes", "My Favorite Things", which features Kirstie....as well as "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" ....and "Say Something".....she's my favorite in the group too....

Great reaction! If you'd like to hear them rap, I suggest their cover of Can't Hold Us, by Macklemore and Ryan Lewis. It’s one of their earlier joints, and Avi and Kevin go insane on bass and drums.

Love your variety and I've subscribed in order to check it out. One (of many, many) great thing about Pentatonix is they are multi-genre all on their own. There is a saying amongst Pentaholics that 'Pentatonix is Christmas.' They have so many great Christmas songs you will have no trouble filling up an X days of Christmas playlist for your channel. In addition to the more traditional classics check out "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy." A song with no words sung by a group without instruments. Keep the PTX coming.

I've never read anyone compare her to Alanis Morissette before. That's interesting. Your Mariah Carey comment is on point. I have read dozens if not 100 comments about the comparison. So many PTX fans, like myself, feel this would have been a #1 hit already lasting for weeks if she had sung it. PTX deserves that same level of respect, but instead it is being treated like just a blip on the radar.

Yes, this is an original - Kirstin (the girl) LOL, and Kevin (the beatboxer) wrote this one I think - As far as 'the group from Arlington' ... Mitch (little guy with mustache and angelic voice), Kirstin and Scott (tall blonde) are the 3 Texans ... childhood friends that grew up together, sang in choirs and did school plays and such ... the other 2 guys were brought into the group which makes up this brilliant group called Pentatonix! One of the Pentaholics will tell you about the 'Sing Off' from 2011 if they have not already - that's where the initial group came together - 😊

I have to say that I actually come from the other side. Always liked pop, Charlie Puth, Ed Sheeran etc.I never liked metal, really didn’t like metal, until I discovered DISTURBED yes I started with sound of silence but loved David’s voice so much I ended up exploring their catalog and big surprise to me enjoyed some of it, maybe not the really hard core stuff but I now listen to songs like stupify, stricken, and of course down, with the sickness, I even like ten thousand fist. I know it’s because of David’s voice but, who cares, I like it. Still don’t like any other metal 🙄but I do tend to get whiplash going between them and PTX. My family says it’s a midlife crisis. 😂😂

Take any Christmas song you DON'T like, find it in thier inventory and listen to thier version. Good chance you will like thier version. Then find one you actually like and be amazed. I did this with "God Rest ye Marry Gentleman" and "12 Days of Christmas" which are my 2 least liked Christmas songs. Let's just say the Pentatonix versions made hop around like an idiot.

This is a PTX original, written by Kirstie and Kevin (beatboxer) and a couple of other songwriters. Since Kirstie is my favorite of PTX, I'm all for a Kirstie lead on the song! Another PTX original Christmas song from several years ago also deserves a look - That's Christmas To Me. It include some home movie footage of the members as kids enjoying Christmas/winter holidays, and is their version of a more traditional Christmas carol type of song.

Scott (blond baritone) , Kirstin, and especially Mitch (high tenor) are all inked, and yes they got more and more of them through the past decade. I'm sure the finger tats hurt - Scott has a couple too - but Mitch said that what hurt the most was when he got his Sponge Bob half-sleeve (moral, kids: don't get major tattoos in your early 20s) blacked out.

I’ve heard others also say it reminds them of Mariah, but I feel like it’s more Darlene Love than Mariah - or just pure Kirstin at her very best. (The puppies are very in character as a Christmas present from her.) Really enjoy your PTX reactions, so thanks. Peace …

Kirsty, Scott and Mitch have know each other since they were kids in Texas. They have known each other since the were like 10, and went through all of grade school and performed in musical theater. Scott went to a different school at some point, but the all reconnected in high school, I believe. But those 3 have been friends and singing together for a very long time.
