This performance was around the time Pentatonix released their original album so you were right “Cracked”, “Can’t Sleep Love” and “Water” are all originals. Another AMAZING live performance from Pentatonix is”AHA! at Singapore the Star Vista” just a heads up you won’t see Kevin in the video because the person recording mainly focused on Mitch (for good reason) but Kevin is there.

Popspring is a Japanese music festival. Mitch and Kirstin ALWAYS dress this way when they are in Japan. It's a tradition. They recently made a Japanese video in the Japanese language. Their costumes in the new video make these look tame. Thanks for your reactions.

Mitch and Kirstin in particular have always had very eclectic fashion sense. The group usually picks a color scheme and then let each person pick their own clothes based on those colors. I've seen them live I think 4 times, they are awesome every time. It literally doesn't matter where you are sitting in the auditorium either, they sound great from anywhere. I like your new set up too, it looks good.

Kirsten is actually usually very animated on stage. Lots of different wigs and looks. Mitch is next in line, both always changing their looks. It's fun!

You will notice that in most of their songs, the lead gets shared. I love that they realize that each part makes the whole, and don't let egos get in the way. They have a feel for who needs to be prominent to get the sound they want.

The Japanese sound engineers are the best. Plus PTX is so much loved there and the Japanese will not give them any thing less in terms of mic balancing. And this was recorded "in-plug" (not sure if that's the right term), not from a fan cam.

This is my favorite live performance from them. I was laughing when you wondered if anyone would do Michael Jackson's dance moves bc Kevin did that turn and I knew you would never guess that. Aha! from Singapore is awesome for Avis low notes and Mitch's highest notes. In an instagram live chat Scott and Matt were talking about all the videos they had made. All from home. So I'd guess we have those to look forward to also. You can look up ptx Scott and matt IG live on you tube and watch it. Hope you are happy going back to work and staying safe.

This was three originals (Cracked, Can't Sleep Love, Water) and Evolution of Michael Jackson (all their "evolution of..." series are great!). Water is one of my favorites from that album (no video for it...). I'm also a big fan of Kirstin and love it when she gets to take the lead or is one of the featured singers. She also sings lead on "Say Something" and is featured prominently in "La La Latch", "Attention", "Shallow", and "Can You Feel the Love Tonight".

I've seen Pentatonix live 4 times. Except for when they have sound engineer problems, they always sound the same or better live as they do on their albums. Unfortunately the last time I saw them they had a new sound engineer and the mix had problems, but that kind of thing happens at concerts.

Kirstie has most of the lead in "La La Latch", a Sam Smith and Naughty Boy mashup of "Latch" and "La La La". I bet you can't tell which part is from which song. It's seamless.

A good Kirstie song is "Say Something"! I also saw you make a questioning face towards the end of "Water" and I THINK it was because of a very high harmony that you were trying to place. If so, that was Kevin! He takes some extremely high harmonies when all 5 are singing without the rythm section.. like "real" acapella style. I'm so excited that a patron requested this and you gave it a listen!

All three of the originals were on their album that went to #1 on Billboard. There are a number of promotional live videos out there of other songs from the album. There's a version of Can't Sleep Love that has the female rapper Tink doing the verbal part. However, Mitch does that part when they're on tour.

I totally agree! Every reactor falls in love with Mitch and Avi Kevin. Kirstie since she’s the only female she also stands out. But like everyone always overlooks Scott or just gives the one liners of Scott’s always amazing or something like talk in-depth about him like everyone else he’s freaking amazing! And no one really ever talks passionately about him or his insane voice it’s always about the others. Which they are amazing so can’t say anything but come on, need a reactor who loves Scott and wants to talk about him.

That depend on who is watching. Scott is probably the most loved and talked about in the group when you think about all reactors of pentatonix because in most of the reactions I have seen everyone gives Scott all the compliments and leaves everyone in the background. Also the fact that Scott does most of the solos doesn't help because I personally get so used to his voice that I stop paying attention to it. So yea I wouldn't say that Scott is the most underrated of the group if anything he's the one everyone seems to be talking about the most so for me it's refreshing to find a reactor that finally gives everyone else attention and compliments they deserve

I would like to see more Kirsties solos because she's my favourite but if anything I think that a lot of reactors thinks that not Mitch but Scott is the lead and the other ones are almost like background singers to back him up

Three live performances I'd really recommend: Aha (Singapore Star Vista), Natural Disaster, Telephone (both the trio version from when Mitch, Scott, and Kirstie were in high school and a more recent performance with the whole group --- maybe the Singapore Star Vista performance). Also, for something a little different with their live performances, the Chair Girl performances are fun (they bring someone up from the audience and sing a song to them). For Chair Girl, there are two particularly stand out performances: Esther (Avi's sister) and Dena (an audience member who had really great reactions). The song that they use for the Chair Girl performance (Let's Get It On) is one that they performed during their run on the Sing Off, so it won't be a new song for you, but what they do with it for the Chair Girl performances is fun enough to be worth the repeat.

It’s kinda hard to tell, but Kevin’s voice does shine through occasionally when he’s not beatboxing - like Mitch he’s also a tenor and in the ‘breakdown’ or ‘bridge’ (idk what it’s called) of water, it’s actually Kevin that’s singing the high notes! Also Mitch sometimes goes crazy in live performances- you should definitely watch aha at the Singapore vista for more of that ☺️ plus avi is insane in it so you might wanna prepare your headphones accordingly

Great reaction! I love the Popspring performances. Kirstie has a great voice honestly. I'm happy to see her taking more leads lately too! If you want to see more "live Mitch" going crazy, please react to "Aha - Singapore Star Vista". Not the best audio quality but it's a must-see for that haha. Unfortunately, it's not always easy to hear Kevin and Avi live. It depends of the mic balance, which not every venue gets right. Okay I don't see the comment in here. When they first went to Japan they went on a morning news program as they do and performed. Well the commentators went nuts because they had not understood about a cappella and went crazy at the end of their first song. Took them a long time to get that straightened out. They have been loved there ever since.

Hey Shawn, I am one of the 9 that have subscribed in the last 28 days, I am glad that you are feeling better and able to come back to this community, Losing someone close to you takes time to start feeling better from, the experts say 18 months to 2 years for anyone to work through it enough. I am a Pentaholic and a Home Frie and I have enjoyed being able to go back and watch there journeys through The Sing Off especially as I have not seen the 'group' performances at all, there is some that I won't be watching as I am close to possibly starting my own channel and want to have those as a surprise. Stop and ponder for a minute.. most singers can sound great in the studio, live they can be also but they only have to do the vocals and often they are not as good as the studio. Acapella groups have to do it ALL! But PTX just takes it out of this world and that is before taking Mitchquake into account!

Mitch is a COMPLETELY different person. You can see how they took their raw talent and have worked to become what you see in this performance. The reason Mitch and Kirstie are dressed a bit different in this performance is because this is a major concert event in Japan, the home of everything cute, quirky and fun - think anime. This is after they got an amazing stylist Candance Lambert and yes, the songs you didn't recognize are originals. They are performing on all cylinders - voices, songs, individual stage costumes, stage craft and CONFIDENCE.
