Avi in the last one giving his "I'm so done with these kids" look just makes me 🤣🤣

I honestly can't watch that clip anymore, it hurts my heart ☹

Supposedly, Avi's expression was because they were making fun of a song he had a huge hand in writing, and it was a very meaningful song to him. All in good fun, but that's why he wasn't participating. Supposedly.

@@charlottevan_8 I KNEW I sensed some negative emotions there! Every fiber of my being felt bad for him and I couldn't figure out why... I knew it wasn't just "Oh, these guys are strange... I'll sit this one out." If I am correct, he LEFT the room. The camera panned out and he was no longer standing there. He was clearly upset. I always feel 100% sad whenever that scene comes on and I just can't watch it.

When this all started, Scott, Mitch, and Kirstin were 19 years old. Nineteen year olds are not known for their maturity. In early interviews, Scott said that Avi was the one who got everyone focused on the their work when the others were goofing around. Avi agreed that he was "the mom" of the group. Sometimes I wonder if he simply got tired of doing that. I interpreted his reaction here as just not even wanting to try and giving up on getting them to focus.

@@RosheenQuynh I think you're see that wrong. I think it's a look of patient acceptance mixed with a fair dollop of his own goof. He probably didn't leave the room, he was behind the photographer laughing his head off. He truly loved those guys.

From what Avi's told people, he taught himself early on to speak in a higher register, since he'd been told occasionally that he was hard to understand if he spoke in what had become his natural low voice. Once in a while, you'll hear him revert to that natural register.

WAIT YOU CAN HEAR THAT?! If there are any video examples of this, PLEASE send them my way!

@@RosheenQuynh Here's something that will give you an idea. I recorded this at Avi's Dallas show in August of 2019, and he's giving the backstory of how he came to write his beautiful "Otherside". The timbre and resonance of even his speaking voice you could feel all the way to your toes, especially since I was standing over to the side (the show was SRO). kzbin.info/www/bejne/kKSli6NngLibpKs

Oh man!! This took me back to the ol days of PTX!! The last clip is my favorite with Avi's face and Mitch coming in with his dancing. Kevin's laugh is one of the best things in the whole world. Thanks for taking me back.

I love this one! I want to recommend checking out PTXperience where you get to see kind of a behind the scenes for their tours and you also get to know their personalities a little better. Maybe you could start reacting to them? The older ones have Avi in them and the newer ones obviously have Matt. I think both are great and definitely worth the time!

Sounds like Kevin starts most of the nonsense episodes. He starts making noises that his mama would have smacked him for, Avi starts mumbling some smooth to it, pretty soon they're all bouncing like four year olds on espresso and harmonizing. Looks clear that these people were made to sing.
@janetranslates4 жыл бұрын
I've said this on dozens of videos--maybe even one of yours--but it's still true: I'd love to be able to sing like they do, but even more than their musicianship, I envy these kids their friendship. It would be so cool to get to work every day with a group of people who are so in tune with each other and have so much fun together.

About a month ago Avi did an interview in which he explained that when his voice changed in between the eighth and ninth grade that his voice was so low that people had a hard time understanding him when he talked. He said that he has learned to train his speaking voice to be higher so that people can understand him better when he talks.

I’m so happy to see you appreciate these guys ... they are so genuine. He trained himself to talk higher because kids were afraid of him when his voice changed. 💕🐝

Not sure if you noticed it, but that last clip is them doing a different version of their original Run to You. And Ben Bram was a friend of Scott's from college. They didn't go to school together, but I'm guessing they met through the college acapella group: SoCal Vocals, which Scott was a member of and Ben was alumni. It was also that way that Scott found out about The Sing-Off. Here's a video of Socal Vocals singing "My Grown Up Christmas List" with Scott as the soloist: kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpauqHpplsuqo9U

Sounds like there isn't much time that they all actually shut up! Like they can't help it, one starts doodling around under his breath then the others start dropping in one at a time and it starts coalescing into an actual song, even if it's a goofy one. Some people ask how they go about arranging and deciding on the final. Well, here it is. They can't help it, they just start singing and there it is. It falls out of the sky onto them. Now we know why we see so many shots of just the five of them lounging around in a room. They drive everyone else nuts.
