I’m not sure how I hadn’t heard this already but know, it ripped right to my heart and soul. Decades of depression, anxiety and apparently some social fears was split right open with this song. I’ve lived in the “is ANYBODY waving” sooo long that I’ve gotten myself into a place where there isn’t anyone. This was a great reminder that I have to put myself out there if I ever want to have someone to get close enough to even have a choice of staying, driving away or just waving out the window (a goodbye and a hello I’d hope). Scott’s upper register, Mitch lower register, Kevin singing and beatboxing in this (and adding just the right elements of harmonization), Matt’s bass woven perfectly through the whole song, and Kirstie blending it all together and also that held high note that served as a transition (like WHAT?!). Those were all of the things that made this arrangement for me. I can't speak enough about this cover! Matt gives this song the weight it needs to hold it down. Kevin shows once again how versatile he is, which gives the cover two completely different moods, which is a feat in its own right. Mitch and Kirstin both sound phenomenal on the harmonies, but their solos are out of this world good, Mitch showing off a more human part of his range, and Kirstin taking a solo that reminds me of Hayley Williams of Paramore. And Scott, all I can say, is you bad boy, you badddddddd.
