Thank you very much for sharing your videos, Melissa. You did a great job of recording the performances by Pentatonix. I hope that you had the most amazing time at the concert.

They have a tutorial for the clapping pattern on KZbin. It‘s super hard. We learned it with a group of friends and performed that song. Singing is one thing, clapping is another. But doing all together is insanely hard!

One of the most incredible demonstrations of hand-mouth coordination. Shreds the cup song. On the official video is a link to learn how to do the hand choreography yourself - if you dare to try.

This song was originally recorded by the band Fleet Foxes. It is about addiction and the songwriter’s loss of high school friends. The red is blood.

Every time I hear this I think this is an Edgar Allen Poe version of a Christmas carol. Like the round set up on this too. Neat group hand work too.

Thanks for this one Debbie!! Pure Pentatonix Perfection every time. The only thing better than watching PTX sing, is watching them sing and dance - even if it's only the hand choreography. Skill, focus and concentration with superb vocals!!

This is a cover of Fox Fleet's song. Most people talk about the French revolution in connection with the lyrics that talk about the children with their little heads falling in the snow. But I've never been able to make much sense of the words. I just love the time, the harmonies, and especially the hand choreography.

I was a drummer that would sing backup and this is hard. I was not near as talented as them so it may be easier, but this is hard. Queen I am sure you came by your multiple syllable pronunciation of a single syllable word by living in the south. You came by it naturally. Don't change a thing. Pentaholics are used to listening to Christmas songs all year round. We are perfectly fine with it.
@tamarasmith9060 Жыл бұрын
The guy who wrote the song said it has no historical references or deep meaning. He simply saw a bunch of kids playing together one day & had a flashback to when he & his "pack" played together running through the woods & playground & such doing games like follow-the-leader. As to everyone trying to read into the scarf color, in modern times red is simply the most common color scarf & gloves bought for kids, typically because it will match their Christmas outfits & also the bright color makes them easier to spot. Parents think kids will be less likely to lose them if they're a bright fun color, but I don't think statistics would show that to be true.😂

Love them!! You should check out their cover of Carol of The Bells and Dance of The Sugar Plum Fairy (they received a Grammy for the second one). Their versions are sooo good! Don't like the originals anymore. Their Christmas songs bring a whole new life to the songs that you have heard year after year and are tired of!

Yeah, I prefer the Official video because you can see what they are doing way better, plus you don’t hear the crowd. Usually the sound at a lot of their venues isn’t up to snuff.

You should watch the official video of this one, it has Avi in it rather than Matt and there is a clapping tutorial at the end. Apparently Avi really struggled to learn the clapping choreo. He had to spend more hours than the other learning it! The words of the song are a bit odd: "I was following the pack, all swaddled in their coats With scarves of red tied ’round their throats To keep their little heads from fallin’ in the snow And I turned ’round and there you go And, Michael, you would fall and turn the white snow Red as strawberries in the summertime" Apparently if you interpret it literally it's rather gruesome as it's about a general decapitating his soldiers and tying their heads to their bodies with scarves! However the lead singer of Fleet Foxes who wrote the song said it was actually about the death of childhood friendships, in particular a friend called Michael!
@Badger77722 Жыл бұрын
While in a normal official video they lip-synch the words to the song, in this live version they're actually "hand-synching" their movements to a recording of the claps, slaps, etc. - trying to mic them all to actually pick that stuff up would be a real problem (and probably a disaster). So they're singing live, they're moving their hands live, but the hand sounds are pre-recorded. On the tour where they're performing this song, they even had a mess-up where the pre-recording started playing before they were ready, and one of them said something like, "It's the hand of God!"

kzbin.info/www/bejne/epqckqWtqsmnqsk This is the link to the video of the clapping tutorial. PTX recorded this to coincide with the release of the official video with Avi. As complicated as it looks and sounds with each of them doing something different, it really isn’t all that hard when you break it down! Each of them has only 16 beats/movements to repeat start to finish. But what an effect! It looks like they may have simplified a bit for live performances and changed the ending…but it still packs a punch! Enjoy!
