Got one, love it!!! Have nearly all the lenses for the system. Lomo sells 110 film in a number of types and I believe they're working on a few others.

I bought one of these, brand new while on a trip to New York..in 1981 or 1982 ish(?). Purchased at a place called “Casino Camera”, and I bought a couple of the optional lenses too. Only can say “damn, I wished I hadn’t sold it a garage sale”, but who knew? Great video and walk down memory lane, Thank You.

I own a Pentax 110 Auto Camera. It is one of my favorites of my camera collection.

I've got one of these. Very lightweight because its mostly plastic. The mirror served as the shutter. The aperture was in the camera body as he explained. In case you've forgotten 110 film format is dreadfully small. The best I could do with any of the 110 format cameras was a 5x7" print, and that was developing the film myself, using C-41 chemistry single use, for best grain and least contrast.

I have this camera. The 110 negative is very similar in size to Micro Four Thirds, and it is a 2x crop factor, so the 18mm lens is equivalent to 36mm and the 50mm is equivalent to 100mm. There are three more lenses. There is a fixed focus 18mm which works at f6.3. There is a 20-40mm zoom but it is not very good. Much better is the 70mm lens, which is 140mm equivalent. There is a smaller flash unit as well. The second version introduced in 1982 was called the Auto 110 Super, and has several improvements, including a single stroke film wind lever. The extra lenses were introduced for the launch of the Super. There are adapters available for adapting these lenses to Micro Four Thirds. Unfortunately, because Pentax the Kodak Brownie-style combination aperture/shutter there is no adjustable aperture in the lenses and so they are all fixed at f2.8. The lenses have lots of character, but are not sharp by current standards, however they are coated and give a look that suits some video styles. The Pentax Auto 110 series was the only interchangeable lens camera made for 110 film. Sadly there is now only one 110 film manufacturer making the film - Lomography. Other brands can be purchased but they are all expired stock of dicontinued film. Lomography makes one B&W, one color, and three arty ones designed to give color shift effects. As Lomography is still making Diana 110 cameras they have reason to keep making the film, but if they ever discontinue the cameras I expect the film to go extinct a few years later. That would be sad as 110 gives a distinctive grainy look that many artists love.

Hi! The Pentax Auto has a (automatic) ISO setting of 100 OR 400; how is it possible you get reasonable images with a Lomo ISO 100-400 film?

About 30+ years ago, I went though a 110 period. At a swap meet show, I located a Pentax 110 Super kit, larger than here with more lenses, plus filters. The seller was a local shop and wanted $300, which I was willing to pay, but didn't have the cash on me. We arranged to meet at his shop the next day to close a deal. When I got there, he had gone out but left details with his assistant. As we were talking, the owner's 20-something son appeared to see what we were doing, whereupon he informed me that "they" could never sell that kit to me for only $300. When the assistant told him his father had already made the deal, he brushed us off. A waited a bit for "daddy" to show up, but when he didn't, I told the assistant to report to the owner that his son had blown off the deal, and I was no longer interested. I recovered from my 110 craze, sold off the several high end 110 cameras I had, and never looked back - thankfully. If you want just one 110 camera, the Pentax 110 is hard to beat, if you want the multiple lenses and such. If you want just a pocket camera, one fixed lens, then the Minox 110 or Canon models are a better choice, being more convenient to use.

I've gotten good results with my Auto 110 using Lomography's color and black-and-white films. A bit of a hassle to develop and scan at home compared to 35mm, but worth the effort to me to save on processing costs.

Thanks for this. I remember seeing one back in the day and always wanting to buy it but alas funds not available at the time! Interestingly there is a kit available over here in Brighton UK at Clock Tower Cameras but it seems the camera itself does not work. I wonder if it could be fixed?

I'm pretty sure the Norita 66 had a double-stroke advance. One stroke cocked the shutter and another advanced the film. Perhaps this is the case with the Auto 110?

Could you possibly find a transparent version in good shape? That is for sale? Thanks for your time.

I have an Auto 110 Super but the shutter doesn't open during the exposure. It is open before and after the expsoure (as I can see through the lens), and the mirror flips during the exposure. But the blades are closed during the exposure. Do you know what could be the issue or if there is a fix? Thanks!

The battery compartment is the weakest link in these models. It is very weak plastic, especially the side nearest the film cartridge, and is often so broken as to be unable to properly hold the two batteries. So ask for a pic of the interior before paying too much. About 65% of those examined have splits, cracks or bits broken off in the battery area, or still have leaking real old batteries damaging the contacts. They can look fine on the outside but be useless for photography. I'm working on a brass metal reinforcing piece to be glued on to the vulnerable side.

Yes the light meter needs two hearing aid batteries. They fit into a dual loop plastic ring that slides into a slot on the far right side of the inside when you open the film door on the rear.

Thanks. A very interesting video, but I don’t understand your arithmatic. If 24 is standard, the factor is 2. (50mm). Then 18 is about 35, moderate wide angle, and 50 is definitely not 135mm equivalent.

That's what it is nominally, but when looking through the viewfinder its different than what I expected.
