Tell him to close the toilet seat :) .. Your "cheap" tripod is nicer than my "nice" tripod :) .. Too fun! I've been looking at Medium Format cameras, this might be the nudge to grab one and a few rolls of film (I miss film) ..

amazing video. was so peaceful. I'm a professional photographer and stay so busy taking everyone else's pictures, I get very little time just to go out and shoot for fun anymore. I literally used to get up EVERY morning at 5 and go shoot. watching this inspired me to pick up a few of my old film cameras and play around. thank you-your smile is infectious! :)

18:04 "the photos didn't work because I didn't capture them right" I resonate with that feeling so much, the knowing that the scene was so great and yet you just couldn't quite do it justice is so crushing. but when I get a good photo and know it was really good makes it so much more rewarding :)

Sam, at 9:33 this is why some of us prefer Hasselblad, Mamiya RB/RZ or Bronica as they have interchangeable film magazines, so MID-Roll you can switch stocks, as quickly as 5-10 seconds, as these backs/Mags can be pre-loaded and just switched out.

@@itscapturedbysam good to hear that!; some buying tips, I shoot a 6x6 hasselblad 500c\m (501/503/203/205fcc)-these are All 6x6 IF an A12 or E12/E12cc back is attached! {6x4.5 if an A16 back is}; most of them come with a waste level, 80mm 2.8 and A12 as 'standard', the 80 is std lens of this size sensor, 60/50/40 are wides; 120 is your "portrait"/macro lens, if ext. tubes (8/13/21/55) attached; 150/180/250 are the 'common' telephotos you see around, 250 + an extender{2x}, gives a 500 (a good cheat to get this tele length, as the 300/500 are rarities). 200/503 are Focal plane shuttered bodies, the 205Fcc is electric - it has an electro-magnet to operate the shutter, and a chip for the spot meter, it's Aperture priority predominantly, unless in M manual mode, it, like the 503 are identified by the dials on the E/Ecc backs, also, like most acc. for them they have two blue parallel lines on them. Hasselblad is leaf shutter, designated by C on the lens, a C/F means it can 'retract' this shutter, for focal plane use-on the 200 bodies, these lenses have a BAYONETTE fitting for filters/shades, so an additional accessory pro hood (B60 size) is a recommendation, it fits ALL C\F lenses (which ironically are B60's); a B60-67mm filter adaptor, and any other one with size 72/77 is a great addition, to allow filter kits, Kase K9 for eg, to fit on to them, allowing ND and Polarising filters to attach easily, no need to purchase Hasselblads' own set of filters {$$$$} . They are great cameras, and love them, hope you find one which you are happy with, and enjoy shooting, good luck 🙂.

Thank you tor the video. I just purchased a 67ii and I have a question. What focusing screen do you use? The one that came with my camera is horrible. I can't tell if it's in focus at all. I even bought a magnifier, it doesn't really help. I was so excited, now I'm afraid I've wasted a lot of money.

We do miss 100% of the images we don't take. That's is true but sometimes the best images are in our head, a part of our mind's eye. There are also times that we are so into capturing the moment that we aren't a part of the moment. My two boys asked me one time if I was going to the party or if I was just going to be taking pictures. That one stopped me dead in my tracks and it has taken me a long time to realize that many times in life there is a time to take pictures and a time to just be in the moment.

Sam, at 13:17 one thing to consider is RECIPROCITY failure, esp. at 1/2 or 1" exposure times, read the films instruction sheet, as long exposures affect different films in different ways, some colour cast, others just need extra reaction time, so don't just accept a time from the hand - held or cameras' meter at this setting, think, is this a reciprocity factor time??, and compensate if it indeed is, so you don't get "thin" or under-exposed negs.

I would actually beg to differ when it comes to those 4 shots of the lady. The bottle left one, turned to black and white maybe, could be a really good work of art. It honestly helps your perspective because that mindset can take a mistake and turn it into a great piece of art

Hello, my name is Matthias from Germany. I found your video in conjunction with the Pentax 67ll incredibly interesting! Your portrait shots are great. I'm also thinking about getting a Pentax 67. I use several of these lenses with my Fuji GFX 50s, e.g .45mm-135mm Macro-150mm-165mm+200mm. I am a tall and strong man and I'm wondering whether this camera is too heavy for me. In Germany they call this camera "The Beast". My question is: how does a young one come? and a petite woman like you to use this camera? Greetings from Germany...Matthias👀👀👀👀👀👀
@itscapturedbysam
@itscapturedbysam Ай бұрын
It’s bigger and heavier than a regular 35mm camera for sure, I have very small hands, it’s not very easy for me to hold it…I never use the GFX before but I think if you ever used a 200mm lens, you should be totally fine with the Pentax 67II. I just love the images so much I don’t care about how big and heavy it is 😂
