At last ! A review with pictures in it ! With someone actually shooting photos with the camera and not just braging about how great it is ! Review is nice and help understand better the camera. Any word on the size of the focus points ? On the K1, the focus point cover a big area. I was wondering if this time the focus point are smaller than before.

Hello I have got a question: owner of a Pentax K-3 Mark II, I would like to know if the Mark III is always equipped with a GPS? ... there is no mention in the specs that it is equipped with! But I have readen somewhere that we are still able to view GPS information for images in playback mode, what does it mean exactly? I'm working with Adobe Lightroom classic and will it be always possible to see the exact place of the images within the map view? Thank you.

Finally a joystick, albeit 5 years after everyone else did it. Great camera though but not for me...to little to late in my opinion, I'm happy with my K1ii and Sony A7Riv but I'm sure those real die hard Pentaxians who can get over the insane price compared to what's out there will definitely love it, but I think my Pentax days have sailed. Lack of lenses, basically no 3rd party options and the slow production has me moving on. Loved Pentax but Ricoh is killing them.

If K3iii is 2000$, than K1iii will be 3500 or even 4000$ when it comes to the market. With such approach Pentax will never atract new customers to the system. I think this camera is pretty good but it realy overpriced. 1400-1600$ would be fair price. IMHO

Your 'greasy' introduction of an anachronistic image capturing device may appeal to middle-aged existing Pentax users or the odd optical viewfinder fanatic. I wonder what a young aspiring photo enthusiast may think about this Pentax K3III when starting out to choose a camera system. Paying $2000 for a an APSC body without a flip screen? Plus lenses etc.? This Pentax camera would be the last thing I would choose! I don't see a future for the Pentax brand anymore which I find sad because I still have quite a bit of Pentax gear but realized a long time ago that there is not much happening their R&D Department and migrated to more innovative brands.

It’s like me being 41 years old riding a 2006 snowboard and absolutely embarrassing an 18 year old on the newest $850 Burton deck. It’s about the finished product, not the gear. These young kids just have to fit in, in every way. They literally thinks it’s life or death 😬😬😂😂 95% of a new and young photographers customer base probably can’t name more then 3 camera brands, let alone any models or form factors. Then there is the whole fact that art is subjective, no one agrees on what camera takes the best image…

How is a 1.05 magnification OVF, sensor over 3200 iso noise free, waterproof, and so much more to add camera 5 year old technology? I am curious? Have you used the camera? I’d be interested in hearing your thoughts in more detail

@@MattBishopPhotography i use a K5 and the limiteds. With all due respect, i want to see independent reviews not affiliated with Pentax in any way. So far none of the Pentax ambassadors have spoken about the video autofocus, etc.

@cruisingGypsy I've compared pricing against all competitors (Fuji, Sony, Nikon, Canon, Olympus) both in DSLR form and Mirrorless form. The K-3 III is competitively priced in comparison. As for 5 year old tech, how do you figure? It's the first DSLR with AI/Deep learning image recognition technology for face and eye tracking through the Optical Viewfinder. Superior IQ at higher ISO (about 2 stops better) than the current king of dynamic range and IQ K-1. People keep thinking the camera is overpriced when in reality, it's just that Pentax shooters and others with an interest in Pentax aren't used to seeing competitive pricing. Gone are they days of flagship camera for a mid tier price. This is an all new camera that has a number of firsts and other existing features that still haven't been duplicated by ANY other camera company whether mirrorless or DSLR. As soon as mine arrives, I'll be doing a series of vids comparing it to the existing K-3, the K-1 II, I'll test the video AF (I'm interested in that as well), IQ, dynamic range, AF tracking both with image recognition on and off. Don't worry, you'll get your answers soon enough (starting the end of April/early May).

A bit late in the game and overpriced. Although I'm super happy with my Sony systems, I still own plenty of Pentax lenses. If the price comes down to around $1399, I'll get one. At this price, I can pre-order Sony A74 that just announced.

How is this camera in your mind late to the game? I am curious why you would think so. The technology that has gone into the pentaprism alone is something that has never been done before. I suggest any judgements made you should do so after testing the camera in experienced hands. Does that make sense?

@@MattBishopPhotography Matt. You respond makes me wonder if you even aware of any other competitions out there. I purchase camera based on my needs and not the brand loyalty although I was more biased about Pentax in the pentax till Ricoh acquired them. The AI features in Sony and now Canon are the new norm which opened up many more opportunities for many photographers. The basic flip out screen by itself helps me alot for my kinda shooting not to mention the AI in Eye AF feature of sony that only canon has been able to compete with.
