Thanks so much ! 35mm FOREVER :-))))

Funny getting this in my recommended because I'm looking right at one on my desk (it's a Program plus, but the differences are tiny), it's really cool and I LOVE the 50mm that came on it. I think I've shot 2 rolls through it, but I'm a horrible procrastinator and still need to develop one of the rolls and scan the one I have developed. I'll have to try using it some more

DEVELOP THAT ROLL :-))) they’re your art work and that super P is bound to produce some beuts !!!!! Thanks for the comments and thoughts

What a wonderful gift !!!!! I’d recommend the SV also as a back up ;-) fully mechanical

@@robbellphoto Actually I started photography last December with my canon r10 and since my dad hasn't touched his Pentax super program cameras in roughly 20 years he gave them to me, in a neglected state. Mirror dust, lens fungus are my main concern for the working body, also the exposure meter is very temperamental and functions at random, as far the non working body I'll see what's going on with it. Tomorrow I'm going to take the kit I was given to a repair specialist in my area

liked your video Robert. i bought a Super Program when it was released back in the 80s. I will not part with it either. 😀 It fits my hand perfectly and is a great travel film camera. It may be long forgotten but it is the gem of Pentax's 35mm slrs.

Wow I mean what a great purchase ! A person with good taste i see

Thanks bud, it is such an elegant slr and all the controls and modes seem just right. The only minor niggle is the lcd display. As i have gotten older my vision is not as acute as when i was a 30 something. Great video and i am glad i found your channel.

Excellent review mate. Nice lens that f1.2. That glass is hard to come by. I have the K version instead. Cheers!

It was actually the f2 he showed, not the f1.2

Nice video mate. Your lense is a F2, not 1.2, very different :)

Hey Robert - thanks so much for this run through. My boyfriend bought me this camera for christmas, and its my first ever film camera! I am trying to get to grips with it but I am a bit confused with all the feautures and settings, especially whether I have got it on the right settings... have you got any basic beginners advice? Thanks
@robbellphoto9 ай бұрын
Yes ! And thanks for the question. My advice will be to study the triangle if exposure AND use a light meter external (get an app) . Try the A setting or auto (aperture priority) setting and know that 2.8 will create a background blur , 5.6-higher - less of a blur. So portraits 2.8 or somewhat low and landscapes or groups , higher like 5.6-8

Would you say this is good for a beginner mainly interested in the functionality of the auto mode? I’ve only had a couple outings so far the first was with a cheap point and shoot and the other my friend let me try a few shots on his manual SLR. It was fun both times but having to juggle full manual and also trying to practice good framing/composition was overwhelming. Kinda wondering if an auto mode would let me ease into more control eventually but let me focus on just the photography aspect instead of wrestling with the camera too.

100% great for starters for sure ! The lens selection is pretty good and abundant also so you will not break the bank 🏦! Enjoy ;-) also check out the Canon AE1 but that’s a lil more pricey
@phantomzero241310 ай бұрын
@@robbellphoto I’m probably gonna stick to film photography at least for a while hopefully. I probably wanna get an older full manual SLR at some point too, if you were gonna start a collection, which brand would you suggest? The big three I’ve heard of so far is Nikon, Canon, and Pentax.
@robbellphoto10 ай бұрын
@@phantomzero2413 Pentax has a good option in the K1000 and Nikon have a nice option in the F3 ! I’m a Nikon fan and love the f mount lens option
@johnforbes16596 ай бұрын
@@robbellphoto Forget the K1000. The Super A (or Super Program in America) can be used in full manual mode like the K1000, but also in full auto, aperture priority, and shutter priority. It's MUCH more versatile.

Where did you see f/1.2? It clearly says f/2. I have that same lens and I shun it. I like the f/1.7 M version better.

if pentax would like to release it's digital version today - they don't even need a redesign

it would do so well !!! it would be expensive ...... I'm guessing $1200 base

Does it have light meter issues like the SP?
@robbellphoto Жыл бұрын
I’m not sure of the historic issues with the Super P but mine is good. They’re pretty cheap but if the LM dies it’s a problem for sure. To be honest I really like the SV as it’s a zero LM body which means I’m good regardless (with the sunny 16 rule of course lol)
