One I've really liked lately is DeAtramentis Kaffee. A scented ink, but really nice warm brown 🤎

Thank you for another helpful (translate "enabling") video! Love the browns.

Seems to me that brown tends to be underappreciated. Thanks for showcasing some of them!

Pelikan Smoky Quartz and Herbin Liè de Thé are my favourites browns. Thanks for sharing

Thanks for this; it's staggering how many undertone shifts there are in brown inks.

I am not really a fan of brown inks. But I have to say, these videos of yours are very interesting. In my perception, Ina-Ho is a green ink, and Ambre De Birmanie is more on the orangy sideThe thing about brown inks is, that they call for B or BB feders - I do not possess a lot of them - in F or M feders they look kind of dull. I have to say Pelikans Smoky Quartz and Pilots Tsukushi look VERY interesting. Thank you very much for the video!! 👍🏻

I'm still sad that Ina Ho is discontinued.

I definitely had to purchase both of the Pilot inks last month (FOMO) because I love neutral inks and these are beautiful so no regrets. My current 3 go to brownish inks are Herbin Lie De The, Herbin Indien Orange, and Diamine Ancient Copper. Look forward to your next brown ink comparisons.

Have you tried Seitz Kreutznach Chestnut Brown? It is a dark reddish brown, a wet ink. I get some shading with a medium JoWo nib.

That's one I haven't tried yet, whenever I've looked for it, it's been out of stock.

Tsukushi was also announced to be discontinued. Replaced by bright green, light pink, and (stupidest ink ever) yellow. Note that Pilot confirmed their Iroshizuku inks are safe to mix, so you might recover some of your departed love.

Such a shame, a great ink Tsukushi!

I'm so agree with you! Inaho and Tsukushi are needed in Iroshizuku line, they already have Kosumosu and a lot of blues 😭

Thanks for taking the time to do this! I LOVE all your ink comparisons! There are so many different shades of Brown so I don't fault you with any of these - goldish to blackish....who cares :) . I LOVE it! I DID get the two discontinued inks and really don't understand the very LIGHT new ones. Just me I guess. Thanks again!

The ambre and the last pilot were my favorites here. Ina ho was kinda barfy and not my vibe. Kwz green gold would be perfect for your bronze swirl Visconti Homo sapiens pen. I finally picked one up thanks to your video. I had my bold nib ground to an italic by mike masuyama.

Love brown inks. Noodler’s Walnut is the king of the genre for me. It does EVERYTHING well.

Hi, What ink would you suggest for a Brass demonstrator fountai pen such as the Asvine P-30?? Thanks in advance Dave.
@PenultimateDave Жыл бұрын
I think it really depends on the ink colour you want to use. Any fountain pen based ink should be good, Diamine have an extensive range. If it's a brass demonstrator and you want a brown ink, then I'd go with something like Diamine Ochre or Diamine Saddle Brown.

I also find Herbin inks to be dry. I only have their Terre de Feu and their Tie, but 2 out of 2 are dry. They only really show up decently in beefy nibs like Broad or Stubs.

I’m glad I’m not the only one that finds herbin inks dry.

Thanks so much for this comparison. I have been very much into brown inks lately and doing major comparisons like yourself. Oddly enuf I haven’t tried a single one of these you featured here today!!! There are so many!! At the moment, I love Noodler’s Walnut and also their #41 Brown. Rich and delicious! I am learning that the best way to test showcase an ink is with a nice broad or stub nib to see its best potential. Thanks again🙋♀️🖋👍

I am curious how that beautiful Herbin Amber de Birmanie compares to Noodlers Southwest (Apache) Sunset. They seem like very similar colors with similar shading. Wouldn’t mind seeing KWZ Cappuccino and Noodlers Rome. I currently have the Noodlers inked in a Prera.

I love Apache Sunset but find Herbin Ambre de Birmanie easier to read on the page.

Firstly I hope that all the covid thing is past and gone...! Secondly I have to admit that your ink comparison videos made me appreciate so many inks, that I haven't thought using before. On this particular video... is it me or the only "real" brown ones are Diamine Ochre and Pelikan Edelstein Smoky Quartz? Ina-Ho seems greenish the other two a little orangish and Tsukushi is like brown and purple had a child... a beautiful child nonetheless😂😂😂

Thanks, most of the symptoms I had have gone, although still feeling fatigue and tiredness a lot, but learning to pace myself better.

Brown inks do nothing to me (like smoky quartz)… but I am bananas for bronze ink, like Rome is Burning or Robert Oster Bronze … so I like that Ina-Ho 😉 For a killer gold ink check Edelstein Golden Beryl 👍
