The tint of single swap is more similar to what would appear when one writes with a pen , don’t you think so? Of course the wetness of one’s pen does produce different tint.

Monteverdi California Teal is my favorite green ink- great shading with the right nib. Monteverde has a number really green, green inks: Yosemite Green, Malachite, Hope Green and a really cool Olivine. Others I use are Organics Studio Henry David Thoreau (Walden Pond) for my sheeting green and Robert Oster River of Fire for a bit of everything- nice green color, some shading & a tad of sheen.

Depending on what picture profile he's using in his camera while filming this, the camera could be (and very obviously is) making blues pop more, which is why all the inks here are more blue-shifted. The only thing I'm questioning now is how in the world he isn't seeing this... Almost everyone in the comments is pointing that out, but he hasn't made any comment on it
@TheDormousesDesk3 жыл бұрын
I agree. Could be a color correction issue. My Yamadori is more teal than straight up blue as it appears in this video.

Some might consider teal to be green, rather than its own colour. But I agree that even then only one of the two teals looked greenish to me. But yes, the akkerman ink aside none looked like green inks to me.
@PenultimateDave4 жыл бұрын
I'm trying to keep to core colours like green, blue, red etc. By splitting into Teals and Turquoises would mean I would probably only have 2 or 3 inks to show on a video which wouldn't make much of a video.

I haven't tried Tsuki-yo yet, I nearly got it but I went for Syo-ro in the end.
@SwayvillDelgarian4 жыл бұрын
@@PenultimateDave Interesting, I went the other way around. Thought that syo-ro would be close to ku-jaku (a darker shade of course) and went for tsuki-yo. Anyway you can't go wrong with any of these inks!
@katherinesmith2353 жыл бұрын
I have Ku-jaku, Eau de Nil, Monteverde Teal, and Syr-yo. Ku-jaku is a slightly bluer, wetter version of Eau de Nil, which is a little more matte. Monteverde teal is much darker, leans quite green, sheens like crazy and is very lubricated. It's very well-behaved for a sheening ink. Syr-yo is a brighter green version of Tsuki-yo, another favorite of mine. I do love all these inks. Unlike Tsuki yo which stains rather badly, Ku jaku and syr yo do not stain.

I tried R&K Verdigris. It is quite saturated, but looks more like a Payne's grey to me than a teal. It's darker, blacker and leans bluer than Iro Tsuki-yo, for example - on TR 52 gsm paper with a Sailor 1911L 21kt H-MF and H-B, both wet writers. YMMV

My only "greenish" inks are Iro Ku-Jaku and Syo-Ro. Ku-Jaku goes down blue but dries green. Syo-Ro goes does green. Though both I consider to be teal. What happened to R&K Verdura you got as a gift around Xmas or your b-day? Did it go MIA, out of sight, out of mind, or "oops, I forgot I had it"? Or perhaps you didn't like it. From the reviews and swatches I have seen, it looks like a clear, bright, chromatic green, maybe too much so!

I really like Diamine Teal, however, I am looking for a change. I got some samples of Robert Oster Velvet Storm and Noodler's Air-Corp blue-black. After my tests in different nibs, I think I will be staying with my teal... the Diamine Teal. I found I can mix a noodler's black and Navajo Turquoise. Velvet Storm was a bit too dry for me.

Do you find Diamine Teal gets very gloopy and thick around the neck of the bottle, especially around the threads and cap? Mine does, it seems quite a thick ink to me. I've not had any issues with it in pens, just around the bottle neck.
@CarthagoMike4 жыл бұрын
Christopher have you tried Graf Von Faber-Castell's Deep Sea Green? It is similar to most teals (although with a bit more of a greenish tint) and flows really well without being too wet (or so my experience is at least). I often switch between it and Diamine Teal, since I like both inks a lot.

Can someone explain the “ink shortage” Montblanc claims they are having? Is diamine having shortages?
@PenultimateDave3 жыл бұрын
I haven't heard of a Montblanc ink shortage, but many companies are being affected by the pandemic over the past 18 months. Montblanc doesn't make its ink, it outsources it to a company in Austria. It's certainly possible that they have had issues obtaining certain dyes or pigments, or have had to lay off or furlough staff during the pandemic. There's also a lot of issues with international freight being held up or quarantined, so if there is a shortage it wouldn't really surprise me, although I haven't heard of a shortage.

My number one green ink is Monteverde Yosemite Green. It has just the right everything, and I love writing with it. Number two is Monteverde Olivine. Number three is Waterman Harmonious green. Number four is Iroshizuku Chiku-rin. Number five is Noodler's Gruene Cactus. There is, however, a caveat to this list. The green ink I actually use the most is Noodler's Foresr Green that has been diluted from twenty to thirty percent distilled water This way I get just about the perfect shade for the particular project of the moment. I don't list this as my number one ink only because it isn't off the shelf as I use it.
