Wally Krusee You suffer the same syndrome as I do, I don't know where you live, but I'm in FL and about two miles from the ocean and wind has been always a nightmare to me since 2006 when I started, I just put together an Indy 250 frame (clone of Tarot 250) very similar to this one on the video, have the same CC3D flight controller, recommended motors and propellers, and I can't darn fly this thing without being very unstable and wandering on the air like a rocking chair. Worse thing this FC board has is that it doesn't have a Barometer, so forget about Altitude Hold, at lest it has decent Autolevel (any quad has it anyway), people say you can't use a GPS (which I still doubt though), all in all you get what you pay for. Maybe I'm used to a real nice quadcopter with all the goodies like the DJI Phantom and I was expecting at least to be half decent, but as I see it, I have wasted my money or....wait until a truly "calm day" with either 0 mph or less than 4 mph wind. Wish I would live in any other place in the world where they have either no wind, or so little wind....anyone get fooled or get the wrong impression seen how "stable" these people flight, but they seem to live in nowhere land in the middle of a country very far away from the ocean, that way anyone can fly stable anything, even one of those little toys (I have a WLToys 949 that could never fly outside because it's like a mosquito under a hurricane wind to say it in simple words)......Maybe one of these days I put together a size 550 or 650 quad or hex and forget about all these little toys, I can't handle to keep on wasting money because of the damn wind. At least a dcent 450-650 quad with GPS, Altitude Hold, etc. would not care about wind, my DJI Phantom fights the wind real nice but that's mainly thanks to the GPS trying to keep the quad's position.

Thanks to reply back to me yes all the motors and carbon prop are in the correct rotation I forgot to mention the props that I have are a low quality they are really flexible but I just hover the quad maybe in fly fast mode it may respond deferent let see what happens do to a bad weather in ny I don't have that much chance yet.

Fantastic Tech, I've been trying to get my multiwii programed for some time now The quad keeps flipping over high speed well in a hover. I think it might be a ESC? frustrating! Any ways I did order and received the CC3D and will be replacing the multiwii along with a new set of ESC's Great vid, I'm looking forward to following your step-by-step vid. I did Download it already. P.S. this is my 1st 2500 build and having a blast learning about what makes them work instead of the Buy-an-fly's. I'l let you know how my progress is going. Thx Tech. Nice video I have the same board great product just a question I have similar propellers I tried to use them but I can't control the quad 250mm once they are on it I have carbon fiber and I just don't want to damage the carbon prop I did balance the props but the quad gets to unresponsive with them what should I change.

Sounds like you can't even hover? Definitely check the motor rotations CW/CCW and the correct props are on their respective motors. I use Gemfan 5x3 and 5x3R props. The 'R' is the reverse of the standard prop. You'll need the 'R' prop on front left and back right motors.

Jack.F Rost That doesn't matter. Just assign the switch positions in the CC3D software to whatever your switch positions are on the transmitter.

Hi great project by the way, I'm looking at building one myself. This might seem like a stupid question, but do you know of any hardware that would give the copter remote 3g/4g capabilities, as it would be awesome to have one equipped to go anywhere and land anywhere. Also solar panels to self charge?

I briefly looked into the idea and I think it's a workable setup using gsm cellular signal towers. I assume fly time/video transmision is debited from a data balance that you pay for. I'm still having trouble ironing things out LOS as my tech abilities are apparently weaker than I imagined....big time learning curve

Stuart Carter Hi Stuart, That problem could be a lot of things. Try the following in any order: -Re-calibrate the CC3D gyros. -Re-calibrate with your transmitter. -Re-calibrate the ESC's. -Check for correct motor rotations and correct prop type rotation on each motor (R and non-R) -Ensure centre of gravity (CoG) is around the middle of the quad frame. -Make sure the PID gains are high enough. Not enough PID gain will make it sluggish or unstable. -Check the CC3D whilst connected to the computer. When moving the quad ensure the orientation matches the what you see on-screen. -Check the chosen stabilisation on your transmitter switch. Ensure you a flying in Attitude (self stabilise). Hope this helps.
