I own both a cat and a dog. Cats are for relaxed people and are boring, but affectionate. My dogs have made me laugh a lot more and cheer me up better. Dogs are also super affectionate as well. I LOVE my cat, but I find my dog slightly better.

The things preserved for school dissection use various chemicals/dyes in the preservation process. So it'd be inedible. A normal sheep heart should be edible. And as for the eye irritation, it's likely warning against rubbing your eyes directly after handling the organ, probably because of the aforementioned chemicals and such. I must be fun at parties.
