I'd Much rather hear the church bells than my dramatic neighbors drama any day Lol!
@koilamaoh42386 ай бұрын
I'd rather hear neither lol. My neighbors have roosters n, which wake up at the wrong damn time. and church bells around the corner and good ol "CHOO CHOO" train... Try to sleep through this for work.

I love hearing church bells on Sunday. I think it is ashame that people complain about them. They are used to let people know the time, call to services and when rang at off times as warnings and alerts.

Yuppies are kids from the 1980s. Today’s kids are Gen Alpha. Get with the program.

It’s sad to complain about church bells ringing. I lived in Philly and heard them ringing.

My grandfather went to holy name school back in 1942. I remember st Tim's church in Mayfair bell use to ring. I actually miss hearing the church bell ringing.

I remember St Tim's bells ringing also. It brings back fond memories. I certainly wouldn't be complaining about it.

St. Tim’s is called Blessed Trinity now. It’s still there. Not sure if their church bells ring every day but St. Matt’s rings everyday at 6pm

@cdrum5994 I'm glad St. Tim's is still opened. I was christened at St. Tim's in August 1970. My grade school, St. Bartholomew's is closed but I heard the church is still open. I don't think Bart's had bells or I just don't remember them ringing. Take care 🙂

I live a block from St. Tim's, and I hated hearing the bells every hour. Glad they stopped it years ago.

There’s a church in South Philly that was doing it for awhile. Don’t know if they’re still doing it because I don’t live there anymore. Annunciation Parish on 10th and Dickinson Streets. Never heard anyone complain.

I lived in Hoboken NJ for a good 5 years while working in Manhattan and one of the coolest thing was 4 different denomination church bells ringing at noon every day, plus the Catholic Church that was close by ringing every hour between 9 and 6.

Hey Capt.. I live nearby right around the corner i think its great..i went to school there and still go to mass there. Father Bradley is the best and just trying to do something for community. I remember St Laurentius used to ring the bells hour on the hour 24hrs a day till about 2014 i think.

Rehobeth church in Frankford played songs everyday. Loved it. These people should live near church st where the screeching El turns from Kensington to Frankford aves. And that was 24/7😂

And meanwhile other neighborhoods have to deal with real problems......rather than attacking a charming backbone of a community

I heard Ascensions bells, visitations bells St Ubert's bells St Vincent's bells all my life now someone's bitching about it. See they didn't grow up as a little kid hearing them. It's just becomes a signal that you have to be someplace or get ready for church on Saturday night or Sunday morning. They just want to take something else away from the neighborhood.

The bells were a warning system as well back before any sort of technology. If everything fails, which anything could happen, we definitely would want them to work! Like a train whistle, they remind us things are still moving along.

Ack I had to turn my sound down. jk I find that street amazing in its historical value. Imagine hundred years ago those houses being so close to that massive church - as is today. That's a social and zoning design you don't see anymore. Also, I always wanted to live in a place with bell chimes, and I ain't even Catholic.
