Well ironic that you bring up Smash, another game where Terry’s appearance had a lot of people fuming for the same reason. Just one of those moments where people are whining that another character took up the slot that could’ve gone to their favorite character, at least in their minds. It’s hilarious honestly, especially as someone who’s learned to be happy for others that got a character they enjoy very much, and I’ve been wishing for Fei Long’s return.

Im all about this collab! When i 1st saw this I tbought this was gonna be another bs collab with Avatar skins. When i saw that these were actual characters i lost my shit! Bison and Elana are great additions too! If anything I was a little disappointed there were only 4 characters in season 2. Was hoping for a 5th character.

Highly unlikely. For crossovers to happen, companies have to coordinate a lot to avoid oversaturating the market and to avoid cannibalizing each others games. You'll see an SF guest in City of the Wolves before you'll see CVS3. There's a reason why Akuma was in T7 and Namco never made their version of the crossover. The timing wasn't right.

The problem is that we already have guests before anything from SF3 or Alpha even got any representation. I like SNK games but I'd rather Capcom pull from other in game series or their own IPs like Rival Schools more. I get it why they did it though. Nakayama is a huge SNK nerd and no doubt was given an opportunity and took it. There is no guarantee the stars will align for CVS3 to happen. That would require both companies to coordinate game releases in a way to not cannibalize each others products and with SF6 out and City of the Wolves coming out next year, that might not ever happen and this is their way liie Akuma in Tekken 7 to say "We can't deliver on the promise but we can scratch the itch."

One thing I wish when it came to these crossovers is that they had their own unique street fighter design and not a copy and paste design it's kind of annoying imo to see the same design instead of a different spin on it In the street fighter universe. But otherwise I'm pretty hyped although cammys my numb #1 I do love elena so I'm interested to see what they do with her.

In my case I don't like that it's for the second season, as Harada said for T8, that it was early for guest characters. Besides, instead of just 1, there are 2. So we have to wait another year to possibly see some SF character again, because there are not 5 characters either, which is what people wanted, 4 feels not enough, also because exist people who don't play the World Tour. And as you say, they are in many crossovers, I would have preferred Kyo and Iori from KOF, they are in fewer games I think at this point xd.

This is not Tekken with 50 characters, before the game came out there were already people saying that 18 were too few characters, and if they are going to continue adding 4 at a time, there are many who will not return, and even less now if we add that there may be more guest. And despite all that, I don't see anyone commenting on the price, the most complete package is 50 dollars.

Freddy, darth vader, yoda, star killer, jason, omni man, mai, terry, akuma, homelander, rambo, terminator, alien, myers, and thr list goes on. Many of these are indeed mortal kombat. Some are soul calibur, akuma is tekken etc. We have seen guest characters over and over, nothing is really hype anymore or suprising. What many want is characters to return that can actually impact more than just player matches & ranked. They want to see actual characters who can affect the story of the series and such. Many want to just play their fav characters. Im indifferent, i dont own sf6. So i have 0 investment or stake. But akuma looked cool. Bison looks cool and i dont play bison. Elena is cool and i dont play her. I want to see how these 2 possibly affect more than just ranked matches etc. Mai and terry are.. well.. most times 1 and done for a long time. They dont impact anything other than player matches n ranked. Its kind of like the bare minimal a fighting game can do. Yes making moves n all that, frame data is hard etc. I get that. But its literally almost all they do. Every company does that. At this point in a way its kind of lazy. Do more than just make a character. Make a character, affect the story, make the future events that couod develop interesting. Till then. Its just another guest character. That wont be in sf7 either. So honestly. Who kind of cares.

My only problem is that SF6 is supposed to be far in the future of the SF series and they chose the classic designs of Terry and Mai which to me doesn't really fit well next to characters they've been in games with before. Personally for me, I am very confused why Terry and Mai, which are the most overrated and used characters in every single game they are in, crossover or not. It makes sense but it doesn't make sense at the same time. As much as I hate Mai with a burning passion, it doesn't make any sense for her to be in the game to begin with because she doesn't have any stand alone games coming out about her, so what is the saturation? Terry makes sense because he has a game starring in it which is technically a promo but not a lot of people in the community asking for him. Bison story wise doesn't make any sense because he is supposed to be gone for good and Elena is a classic but not a lot of people asked for her specifically. There is a lot of detail but this is my understanding and how I feel about it.

What makes the terry and Mai additions so egregious in my opinion is the fact that it’s yet ANOTHER SHOTO and yet another rushdown character with Vega movement that can zone as good as a shoto. Two hyper aggressive characters in an already aggressive game It’s redundant and their spots could’ve gone to other deserving long overdue sf characters that would actually spice up the playing field

I'm not happy about M.Bison as far as story, but for game play I'm happy about M.Bison. Terry and Mai were unexpected and I have no problem with them both, but the concern to me is 2 guest characters and we're only getting 4 characters for season 2. If we got like 5 or 6 characters person season 100% would be fine with it. Again I do like Mai and Terry. Elena is someone I know my friend wanted to come back. I'm ok with her coming back, but will she get a new super because Healing is expected. Out of All Four 2 of my friends would play since their SF characters are now coming. For the CvS fans they get to have Terry ask if Ken is ok, and Mai gets to pal around with Chun Li. If we expand it Luke would get along with Terry, and Kimberly gets to interact with Mai. A good choice expands more than gameplay, but also character relationships imo. Lastly it's the internet someone is always unhappy and vocal lol.

Actually Kyo and Mai are the poster kids of snk. Terry was chosen because he's popular in the west and Japanese gaming companies keep making decisions that will appeal more to the American market. Terry is undeniably more popular in the west than kyo, like you I would preferred Ryo or Kyo due to lore reason

I am personally extremely happy with almost all of these choices. I don't really care for Bison all that much, but he's inoffensive to me, generally speaking. I NEVER MIND seeing Terry and Mai in crossover games, so I'm very happy with these choices, especially considering that in terms of Dead or Alive, my main game is Dead or Alive 5 Last Round that I am getting into, and I love Mai in that game. However, I think most people are kind of upset because they aren't like... 3rd Strike characters or other characters people wanted to return. Now they have to wait another year just to have a chance for their favorite to come back. Ironically, I got my 2nd favorite in Elena plus Terry and Mai, so I'm super jazzed. Regardless; I'm happy though since I'm a huge fan of almost all fighting games, and I adore KoF and Fatal Fury. It's gonna be awesome. Keep up the great word Reigns! If this is testing the waters for a Capcom vs. SNK 3, we might be seeing the greatest timeline unfold in front of our eyes.
