Matthew Goodwin brings to light the separation between the average voters and the new elites of society, drawing attention to the fact that there is a rift forming and the people are becoming frustrated in light of the elite values being forced upon them.
Matthew Goodwin is an academic, bestselling author, pollster, and speaker known for his research on: politics, populism, elections, voting, public opinion, Brexit, Europe, academic freedom and more. He is Professor of Politics at Rutherford College, University of Kent, recently served as Senior Visiting Fellow at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, at Chatham House, Senior Fellow with the UK In a Changing Europe, Senior Fellow at the Legatum Institute, and Senior Advisor to the UK Education Committee. In 2022, Matt was appointed Social Mobility Commissioner.
The author of six books, he wrote the No.2 Sunday Times bestseller Values, Voice and Virtue: The New British Politics, and the Sunday Times bestseller, National Populism: The Revolt Against Liberal Democracy, which was translated into multiple languages and listed among the Financial Times and Times Literary Supplement as one of the books of the year. He is also co-author of the 2015 Political Book of the Year, Revolt on the Right, which was long-listed for the Orwell Prize and listed among the Financial Times and Guardian books of the year.

But this is a good thing. British citizens have every right to be angry at BoJo, Rishi Sunak, and Liz Truss. The Labour party is just as bad. UK needs a viable third political party that represents the British people's interests. Those who want to globalize the workforce can go live in Davos, Switzerland, permanently.

Interesting to hear that from this side of the Pond, since that is a growing sentiment over here: we need a third party to counter the Demonrats and the Republican'ts. There's always been that sentiment; however, it's gaining ground. Nobody can quite agree on which party should best represent that sentiment, though it's nowhere as bad as the "balkanization" of other countries *cough*Canada*cough*. Still, most of us, even those of us who have aligned ourselves politically with a (somewhat) viable third party since 1975, still feel that a vote for said third party is a vote wasted, and so we vote for what we are now faced with: conservative or communist. That's like voting for the lessor of 2 evils; the choice is still evil.

I blame Tony Blair. Since 1997 and his election he changed a lot about British politics and culture and not for the better and we are seeing the consequences of his disastrous policies. This include the war in Iraq, mass immigration, various equality policies, mass overspending in the public sector, changing the House of Lords, house prices increasing massively, and much much more.

You're spot on. The spin and politics of personality have taken over and allowed workers to poison the country. Even if the Tories tried to implement policies, the politicised Civil Service introduced by Bliar, felt that they had the right to prevent them doing so. Blair has a lot to answer for - including the cultural enrichment of young girls in Rochdale and Telford etc.

What we are likely headed for is a period of universal conflict. Its a reactionary Universe, Control causes Chaos, Extraction leads to poverty and starvation, which leads to revolutions. Arrogance preceeds destruction. And even the Tao warns about the Academics interferring if education becomes ubiquitous. its an ancient cycle, as old as the ruins burried in the deserts. As the US Army once pointed out: "Civilisation is the terminal phase of a culture." its the beginning of the end of the story. Usually the problem is too much success. Its akin to the Mouse Utopia, a social version of biological overshoot. Some see it coming and prepare or get out. Others run with the Lemmings.

The irony is that the country was the first to move decisively to the cultural right and yet could be about to get the most leftist government. The Tories still have time to pull this around as does The Reform Party to make a difference. Whatever happens, it is unlikely to be anything but a big mess for the next 5-10 years. However, the movement in the public sentiment is all in one direction and it is very difficult to see how this can be reversed. We can be assured that once we have another Labour government the globalist establishment will continue to do all it can to keep it in power. The good news is that short of an economic miracle or the banning of elections it is difficult to see how a Labour government can stay popular for very long or quite how much more damage the Labour Party can do. Why fear a return to the EU when the EU is rapidly falling apart? Why fear more globalism when that is also falling apart along with the EU? Are the Labour Party planning on providing the boats and free air tickets necessary to encourage even more 3rd Worlders to come to the UK? Perhaps surprisingly the British working class become more emboldened to protest when there is a Labour government in office, therefore this may end end being a good thing. There is also the remote possibility that Starmer may become more conservative than the Conservative Party, which would not be in any way difficult. If so then good luck to him. IMO, a future Labour government will not be able to offer a single improvement even if it wishes to do so as the UK has effectively had a New Labour government in power since Thatcher was deposed. The fact remains that what the people want ultimately matters, whoever is in No10. What governments can get away with when the economic winds are favourable and living standards are rising in one thing, when not it is quite another. What the people want indeed all that they have ever wanted is popularism. In other words, a government dedicated to serving the interests of the people and the country as a whole. All national governments are supposed to be both popular and nationalist whatever name they give themselves. The age of divisive political ideology is DEAD in the hearts and minds of the people. Leftwing and rightwing have become meaningless terms that serve no future purpose.

The actual irony is that Matt Goodwin was a fairly obnoxious open borders supporter who in 2011 wrote a paper for Chatham House - the heart of the British Establishment - called Right Response about how to infiltrate movements opposed to mass immigration. He's a total fake containment operative

During the new labour campaign in 1997, it was as if shades were lifted off my eyes and I began to see mr Blair as very dangerous. I felt frustration as my friends and family could not see it at the time, though many can now. Gordon Brown was the best we have had since James Callaghan. Tories since have been too new labour influenced since. Mr Farage has been the only one who has really spoken up for this country. Yes, I know he too has faults but look at his actions. To me, he is not inconsistent, he shows more upright leadership than most of our party leaders.

The new elite and right wing seem to have been indoctrinated with Ayn Rand’s twisted philosophy. She preached that the elite shouldn’t have to pay tax as all of humanity’s progress is because of the discoveries and leadership of the elite. Rand was Thatcher’s favourite author. You can see her influence in many of Thatcher’s policies such as low taxation for the wealthy, no such thing as society, small government, let the markets rule, etc.

You cant eat money, you will starve just as fast as the poorest of the poor. So with the inherited money comes an inherited idleness, paying others to assist you become more useless towards your own survival. You will be like the german in the 1930s taking millions to the bank in a wheelbarrow, only to be told the only worth is the wheelbarrow. What is even funnier is that they are striving for a 1 world communist government, your wealth buttercup will be confiscated to feed the masses of socialists who are more idle than you.

What country or government worthy of the name would prioritise the needs of economic migrants, chancers, assorted criminals and other such people who have contributed, and will probably contribute, absolutely nothing to this country-in fact quite the opposite- over the needs of its indigenous population who have been paying into the system for all of their working lives? As Enoch Powell correctly stated in relation to immigration “ we must be mad, literally mad”. The famous quote “ whom the gods would destroy they first make mad” is indeed being enacted right in front of our very eyes on a daily basis and the majority of people hardly seem notice it.

Though Matthew contributes some important information he constantly misses the point as he concentrates on symptoms and not the central causes. He thinks this is political and does not concentrate on the neo marxist nefarious agenda from supranational players or the central bank debt money system which is basically the death star and at the heart of the total problem.
