People going natural wasn't meant to be a trend🙄. It was the awareness of chemicals that was lead to cancer that stopped people from relaxing their hair. There are so many natural ways to straighten hair and I only pray more people explore the options.

The trend was miseducation from those who didn’t understand natural hair- ya know? The info coming from the mean natural hair gurus shaming anyone who wore a relaxer. We gotta study to show ourselves approved before we start putting misinformation out there without taking responsibility for it. I’ve lost count of the peoples hair I’ve had to nurse back to health because they watched inaccurate KZbin info from people who had no idea what they were talking about. Natural hair became a trend like most things. The intention was good from a small few, but it was contaminated by the masses who sought after money, clout, endorsements and popularity. This channel however is all about encouraging healthy hair in a way that makes sense for the individual. So, this individual received a relaxer and her hair is thriving. If she ever decides she wants to go back natural, that opportunity is there and we can do that too. Thank you for commenting. I appreciate your feedback 🙌🏾

I really wish they made awareness to what we put in our bodies versus what we put in our hair. There are so many chemicals in the foods we eat. The foods we eat affect our entire body. The old saying is we are what we eat. So before we go on this “I’m natural” we might want to say my hair is natural. I don’t wear weaves or wigs because those wefts and wigs ARE chemically processed and I don’t color my hair. I only eat what is naturally grown from the earth so I am natural.

Natural will never be over, but people are sure waking up from the lies and miseducation from the arrogant natural hair guru communities who used being natural as a means of collecting a check and selling you all products and ridiculous recipes they knew were ineffective or poorly researched! What makes sense will reign forever- trends won’t.

@@BrandiBeautyTV I never believed that what works for 1 person wud work for me and stopped believing there was a magic bullet product years ago. Still natural. It is different to manage than relaxed hair, but I no longer view it as difficult and respect others WHO DO.

I love my natural hair! This is the healthiest my hair has ever been. Before, my hair only grew to my bra line. This is this first time in 47 years my hair has ever grown to my waist. Yes honey, it took some getting use to as far as how to manage it, but she is flourishing.

Nah, the natural hair movement can't go out like a trend. Different strokes for different folks but I can't do the creamy crack. My hair never grew with it due to the breakage it caused. It came out cute but tell her the natural community welcomes her with open arms when she realizes her relaxed hair is damaged due to the constant heat she'll put on it. No hate. All she needs to do moisturize it, get regular trims and stop flat ironing it so much because she had heat damage. #TeamNatural

Your clients hair looks lovely; however, I think it's more about preference than waking up. Personally, I totally enjoy my natural hair and will continue to wear it natural. I had a relaxer for about 8mos total including growing out 3 inches of natural hair before cutting of all the relaxed hair. I didn't like my relaxed hair at all and went right back to my natural hair even though it meant cutting off waist length relaxed hair.

Everybody can't wear short hair, but this style is definitely YOU all day long! Absolutely beautiful! Give your beautician a PHAT tip! I was relaxed with a pixie cut for years, thick and healthy. Changed to natural about 5 years ago. Hair length is now below my bra, still thick and healthy. Everybody do what fits you. ❤❤

You can’t be natural with a relaxer mind set. Once you get over that natural hair is only as hard as you make it.

Girlllllll you are PREACHING!!!! It’s why I went back to relaxers. I’m lazy and my lifestyle doesn’t work well with natural hair. When I was natural, I had MORE breakage and split ends than when I’m relaxed. I actually retain length with relaxed hair. When I was natural, I couldn’t retain length to save my life.

According to Elite Hair Care relaxing your hair can actually make your hair healthier. It smooths the cuticles. What confuses me is people who bleach or colour their hair and say that they're natural. When I colour my hair it has the same effect as a relaxer.

WOKE! Up real fast. Mannn relaxer HERE I come but this time not as often and I will not relax my ends after the virgin relaxer is done. I’ll protect my scalp and not rush to relax after braids which I was doing. My bad habits was easy to blame relaxer but truth be told I was relax from a young age and never knew how to truly care for relax hair. Thanks to the internet I do. Why not just say people are reverting back to relaxers or people with kinky hair prefer straight hair? if you just now learning about your natural hair yes there will be incorrect advice it's a process....the movement actually started in 1960 ........ It was a statement people with textured hair wanted to send to the government that discriminated against them for being naturally themselves....... Some people prefer to embrace their natural self and some don't no judgement towards neither

Because there were many uneducated, mean natural hair gurus spewing false information once they realized they could get clout, endorsements and money by creating a "natural hair platform"; And no one wants to be held accountable for anything they say. So yes, people are indeed waking up because they're realizing that it's best to do what's good for you as an individual. Relaxers, natural, color treated? All a choice and all good if it makes sense for the individual.
