People get tickets for no fare on light rail

Security and police were out catching people misbehaving who didn't have a light rail fare while on the light rail.

If you don’t have a valid fare or pass no matter who you are or what excuse you have, the officers get ticked off, throw you off the train, write you a citation, and take away your train privileges for a certain amount of time by giving you a trespassing order. If that problem persists, they throw you in jail.

They can lose their train privileges for not having a valid fare. If they lose that privilege they will have to ride the bus.

Evading fares on the light rail (not having a valid pass, or having a reduced fare pass without ID/proof of eligibility) can and will lead to bad consequences. Here are the possible consequences: - The security guard can kick you off the train temporarily or permanently. - You can get banned from all light rail trains platforms and park and rides. Also, if you step foot on light rail platforms and park and rides, you’ll be arrested. - You’ll be given a citation and/or ticket. With all that being said, PLEASE do the right thing. Have your valid pass out so that security can see it. Also, on the platform, if they don’t come to you to check for a valid pass, show it to security as you enter the train.

Now do something about the pan handlers on every counter in the state. They have plenty of money from emotionally manipulating everyone who drives off the freeway. At the end of the day some drive off in a brand new Benz or Bmw. That’s the real problem

Same, I'm sick of seeing panhandlers too. They are everywhere in my town. Homeless as well

@@stevehernandez1500 there will be more homeless as inflation and amount of government rises. Maybe if we end public funds, pay down that debt we owe China and let the market do it's thing, we'll be ok. However homelessness isn't always a bad thing. Many are going the van life so they can freely travel.

In New Jersey for NJ Transit Light Rail (Newark Light Rail, Hudson-Bergen Light Rail, and River Line) you have to have a valid ticket (Purchased and stamped), or a monthly bus or a monthly/weekly rail pass while on board as if they catch you without a valid ticket or pass it's a $100 fine.

It’s Phoenix. We don’t have receipts or train tickets. Just bus passes. One day pass, 3 day pass, 7, and 31. You also can flash an app with your phone. When you get on the train, you buy a bus pass, which like any bus pass, you hold on to until the pass is expired. The receipts you DO get from the machine are just credit card receipts, they don’t serve any value when riding the train. The bus passes have magnetic strips on them you swipe when getting on the bus, or they swipe it for you when they check for passes on the train.
