Get a scissor gate for behind your roll up warehouse doors. Had the same issue with our warehouse because crews would open doors for airflow. Scissor gate fixed that issue.

If you can't put a security door in the front, you need a buzzer door lock like you might find in a bank or jewelry store so people have to be let in even if the deadbolt is not locked. For all of your roll up doors you need an interior sliding gate as another barrier to entry. This will allow for airflow for the employees if garage door is open. For your side elevated roll-up door it will act as fall protection if open without a vehicle parked to it, which is needed for OSHA in such a scenario anyway.

But….as a retired 32 1/2 year cop, I will tell you that when you put yourself out there on KZbin, you have to expect you will attract the good and unfortunately, the bad. Actually, you’re very lucky since they didn’t break, steal or physically assault anyone or yourself. This is the world we now live in. It comes down to one big word, RESPECT! Not many people have any respect for anyone or anything anymore. Property needs to be properly posted with trespass signs. Posting a video while tells your followers what’s up. You Don’t actually need a plastic sleeve with a tapcon but the mortar tip is good. You also need a hammer drill, not a standard drill. I don’t know why he had a standard drill.

Mike, word of advice. For hanging those signs, especially on bricks… use the 3m extreme exterior double sided tape. MUCH MUCH easier than drilling holes and screws. I use it at my shop all the time for no parking signs. (People still park despite the 8 signs in 2 languages 🤔🤯)

I worked at a big music venue in austin for awhile recently and that was a big problem for us, people would lose a phone or wallet. Next morning they would come see we are closed no one is on site and the would pull on the doors or jam things into them so they would open, walk around and act like it was a completely normal thing.

The electric can be forced up. A pull chain with kick locks at the bottom of the door will prevent it from being lifted without getting inside. With that and a security system you can deter a lot.

@@knight838_ - not all of them can be forced open. I have five garage entry doors at my business that are gear driven and because there not opened with a belt drive they can’t be forced open. They are more money but they are way worth it. But my doors are made out of steel and aluminum and heavy where as Mikes are very light weight. But they also install these openers like mine on light weight doors also. When I went to upgrade my doors and openers I had no idea how many types were made. Thanks

I am unable to process the mindset of anyone opening a garage door, service door, front door of a home or any structure, entering the premises without an invitation, and thinking that is reasonable behavior. No sign on the business, no store hours posted, no sign saying "enter" or "open" just WTF? Watching your video, I saw nothing on the building that made me think it might be open to the public. Nothing! What if he had a pocket knife, pen, or any object that appears it could do you great bodily harm? That's a recipe for getting shot. Honestly, I can't believe the cops told you that you need to post "no trespassing" signs for them to make an arrest. That's bullshit, I don't need a "no trespassing" sign on my home to keep criminals out. As stated before, there were no indicators on your building that would lead a rational average person to believe it was open to the public. So, the natural and reasonable expectation is the establishment is a private structure, not a storefront. A little tip on hanging anything on brick. If you don't have a hammer drill, drill into the mortar joints, it's softer than the brick.

Put ringers on the front door, or put a digital passcode lock on the front door. For the garage doors while you are working with them open, just simply have a safety rope/pull along with PORTABLE no tresspassing signs. But, your front door is a major problem. Need a door that is not glass. Too much for valuables inside. Id also recommend a steel interior door from your office to the actual garage

Fuck Cody (WD) has had hell with fans with no sense of boundaries. Gotten well beyond the limits of what I would think is reasonable for a fan. So much so he has to keep majority of his life private other than where he films. Other personal vehicles. Properties etc. Sorry to hear that Mike. Hopefully people will learn but unfortunately I doubt it will be the last time. Only time I would ever approach one of my fav creators properties or shops is if they were hosting some kind of open function. Being internet famous and recognized is enough as is. You're correct and wrong same time. This is a business not a home. People will assume it's a store and assume they are your friend from following you. Opening a garage door is wrong but if you don't want them walking into front door then you lock it. Wifi lock with pin code is a simple solution. Being a commercial lot business along main street with no signs and unlocked door I'd 100% walk in looking to buy something or say hi and show my appreciation for the videos. I've been to many shops where they work on classic cars and usually shop doors are open and yes I'll peak inside bit see what's going on and most of the times I'll be allowed too. Maybe look for manager, or maybe peak beside closed doors in grocery store where sometimes you have to ask employees where is bathroom. Signs aren't enough. Lock front door and block garage door with rope or something with hanging sign when open.

In Kentucky we have 2 deifferent charges for that Breaking and Entering means someone broke something to gain access to the inside of private property and the second one is Unlawful Entry which is when someone has access to the in side of private property without having to break anything.
