That was real moose hunting, no four wheelers, or big comfortable campers with all the luxury of home brought to the woods. There would be very few so called moose hunters now if they had to ruff it like this ! They also used the entire animal and not just go pick up their box of meat at the Butchers.

There are still many authentic hunters! But Just yesterday I had to defend my nabours land from trespasser, 4 middle aged men straight from cabelas! So I know what you mean!

I need to get a moose before winter time. It looked like they had a 303 brit. I use 30.06 for all game.
@MDR-hn2yz3 жыл бұрын
In the 60’s they probably had access to a lot of cheap Lee Enfield rifles and.303 ammo. No moose here, but we’re 2 weeks out from deer season. Good luck. 🇺🇸🇨🇦
@jeremypomroy23073 жыл бұрын
That is definately a 303, I have one too hah. I still need to get a moose myself. Good luck getting your moose
@donaldatkinson79373 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I was thinking 303 myself, my first deer rifle was a 303 British, about 30 years ago, cost $35.00 at Rose's department store. Still have it, and it has dropped several deer. Very rugged guns.
@pololedodo79813 жыл бұрын
303. Cheap, precises, reliables and available everywhere. They use ww2 ammo, not fency mushrooms bullets. Still does the job. I hunted with Indians in 1976 in Saskatchewan near Buffalo Narrows. I will never forget it.
@dalanwanbdiska65422 жыл бұрын
I did get a moose but with a browning 270. Semi auto. Im using sks 762 x 39 , 123 grain fmj is all i got for rounds. No special hunting bullets needed. Its Elk season this month so Ill be going out soon. Might just use my 243 savage axis2 xp. 80 grains gets the job done.

bach in those days alters didn’t mean anything to them, hunting moose was a way of survival,, an fishing/trapping.. lets foward to 2020 ,, it’s about antlers for a lot of hunters these days,, wish we were still in the 60/70’s

I disliked the flute but liked the rest. Never was a fan of the flute. Probably started back in high school. I felt there was no need for that in the band. Twittering away, unheard once the rest of the brass starter pounding away.

@bronchoped1 what is sad, is when they can't find a moose to feed their family. An empty stomach doesn't care how old the moose is.
