I love UFC, which was a surprise for my husband when we first started seeing each other. I'm small and cute and round, but, at one point in my life, I had a black belt and I LOVED mixed martial arts (watching, not participating in - I was in it for the discipline and beauty of the art, not really for the fighting - I'm a cuddler, not a fighter). So when I saw him come in with that cauliflower ear, it was clear what his profession was, and when I heard the name, Gracie, it was TOTALLY understandable that it was the one time he lost - no shame in losing to a Gracie. The Gracie family is legendary, I was impressed, both that he managed to get one for his debut match, and that he held on for a few minutes. This was a fun interview, thank you!

I've met a former UFC champion. Something about mma fighters is that they are so calm and have this intimidating aura, yet they are some of the nicest people out there. Humans are naturally violent and being able to release this pent up aggression in a controlled environment makes these fighters very peaceful outside of the octagon.
