In response to Muhammad Hijab on how the support of weapons and ammunition from Iran reaches the resistance, the weapons reach by sea through Sudan and then from Sudan to Egyptian Rafah, which was smuggling weapons to Gaza. Therefore, Egypt destroyed Egyptian Rafah with Israel under the pretext of fighting terrorism. Secondly, it is clear, unfortunately, that the Sunnis (the Madkhalis and the nationalists) do not offer solutions with Israel except surrender and waiting. And any resistance they start by attacking the resistance instead of attacking the occupation. But the opposite happens when we talk about the Syrian revolution, so why don't we blame the Syrians for their revolution, which caused the death of a thousand of them? Isn't it better for them with the same mentality to surrender and wait!? Thirdly, Hezbollah's intervention was only after the war turned from a peaceful war to a military war. The same thing happened to the Syrians, who received Western and sectarian support, and there were dozens of factions that were fighting each other. Blaming Hezbollah without context is superficial. Finally, either the Sunnis should be steadfast in their decisions and trust the decisions and choices of the Palestinian people, or they should help them in a real way, whether by supporting them with weapons, boycotting them, and pressuring them diplomatically, or by hosting them and giving them citizenship, rights, and land. As for blaming the Palestinian because he is resisting the occupier, and blaming the Palestinian because he is receiving Iranian support after the Sunnis abandoned him, these are the methods of hypocrites.

@@Hlk.100 correct. In Albania the religion was completely banned, and it was the first country on earth declared as Atheist country by dictator Enver Hoxha (ironically his last name means 'imam'). But yes, after the 90' we wanted to be more Western than the Westerners and by now I feel like the vast majority is getting sick of that lifestyle and is getting back to the deen.

1:11:35 I'm not a scholar or even learned enough to say I know my Deen thoroughly, but in South Africa where I reside, most of the Muslims are Hanafi, my brother is a Mufti, what I understand from him is that we have to have a Wali present, in fact my sister is looking to get married and each boy who comes to see her, either my father, my brothers or myself are present. The same with Nikaah, no nikaah I've been to has gone through without a Wali present. Jazakallah khair for the informative stream, and may Allah take both of you from strength to strength.

Theoretically the general opinion in hanafi mazhab it is not required, however imam Muhammad the student of imam abu hanifah was of the opinion that a wali is required and the Ottoman empire actually changed the official fatwa to that because of misuse of the original opinion(people going away and marry without consent of parents etc)

MH is more knowledgeable on aqeedah, fiqh, arabic, tafsir, scholarly works, history, hadith, quran memorization, general philosophy, debate, seerah, and there’s really no debate about this. Daniel is only slightly more knowledgeable on overall geopolitics.

Having this sort of amicable discussions with someone of a different paradigm of thought is actually much more eye-opening. It brings out the genius of both sides. Unfortunately, I had to miss the stream. Anyway, I'm now sure I haven't found anyone brighter or more brilliant than DH in my life so far (23 years). I feel sorry for the brother that married the previously promiscuous woman. Why? As a man can I save myself till the age of 24, living in the west amongst all these temptations, and having a higher drive than women. Why can't a Muslim woman do the same? Why can't they control themselves like some guys do? The issue about the man finding out about his wife’s past. The issue wasn’t properly dealt with. The brother asked is it justifiable that he divorces. The answer is YES and he doesn’t event need a reason. BUT even if he divorces or stays and marries another 3 he still won’t be happy. He’s seething with rage and wants vengeance because he’s assuming that his wife was “having fun” then “taking advantage of him” from all the brother’s post, he didn’t mention a single bad thing about his wife during their many years of marriage!! She seems like a good woman that made a mistake and is riddled with guilt about it! And even then it’s halal for her to conceal it. From everything he shares the issue seems that he is living a nightmare in his head imagining her doing things with men. Why would you do that to yourself? What’s the real issue that is causing you to mistrust her and want vengeance? I would explore this, do you know 100% that she had bad intentions from the start? Do you know 100% that she married you for money? Is it possible she married you for your traits and how you connected? If her demands were outrageous why did you agree to them? Can’t you take accountability for maybe conceding? I understand you expected her to be virgin but why didn’t you tell her from the beginning “look it’s an absolute deal breaker for me if you had previous relations with men, you don’t need to tell me but please end this relationship if that’s the case I would have added this to the contract of marriage. But honestly I don’t think the real issue is her past. I strongly suspect that the brothers insecurity comes from his imagined and non factual assumptions- I recommend he speaks to a trusted therapist or counsellor of his choosing. I think if he’s really honest with himself this incident could strengthen their relationship and love by being fully honest. Or perhaps end the relationship if you sensed she was an unfaithful wife DURING the marriage (this way you won’t need anyone’s suggestions). Make your own decision. This woman seems like a good woman from everything you shared. People make horrible mistakes, and you have the intelligence to figure out her intentions and you have the right to end the relation if you choose. To Mohammed hijab- please re-address this topic. I know you were taking it lightly and was having a good time but please re-assess and confront this matter with this brother. Even if this brother marries 3 others, he will contaminate all the other 3 marriages by going in them with the vengeance and weak mentally that stems from unexplored insecurities and negative false assumptions! Plus the brother never suggested he wanted to marry another wife. His issue was his hurt feelings.

Btw I think what she did was wrong to conceal it, if it was me I’d be 100% transparent especially because she terminated a pregnancy. But this isn’t a perfect world. Maybe she was filled with shame! So either divorce her in an amicable way to keep contact with the kid or try to really work things out. But I think the brothers emotional response was specific to assumptions that need more clarity. Regarding hiding sins, I feel that Daniel's arguments are right. Lying to deceive others is not something to be taken lightly. Imagine your are being asked in a court of law, have you committed this crime and you lie thinking I am hiding my sin or in a job interview you are asked whether you have a criminal history and you lie. That would be grounds for termination and even legal actions against you.

More Muslims need to consider pre-nups, especially if you're living in non-Muslim countries. The mehr can be written in, but this way at least you can control other aspects of your life and finances. You live in a non-Muslim country, and you may think your spouse is very good to you, but if she's going to be able to use western laws against you, at least protect yourself from that part of it!

With all due respect when taking about boundaries gender hijab shifted the goal post. Started by saying men need interaction with woman or they won’t know how to deal with them, then went to only for intention of marriage they can meet in public space, then went to can only look as much as needed to know he likes her. This is dangerous not fiqh it’s just opinion.

There isn’t a shift in goal posts at all.. all of these things can happen simultaneously. For example, you go to a coffee shop (public) to meet a sister for marriage, before you sit down you order a coffee, at the counter is a sister working. You greet and then only speak on topic about your order. You then go and sit with the sister you’re meeting for marriage, you stay on topic asking questions related to marriage. She gets up to use the bathroom, you take a quick glance to see how her figure is, not staring etc. Everything MH just mentioned in one scenario. Not once was the goalpost shifted. You’re presenting yourself as the one MH spoke about as being socially inept.

As the lamest of laymen , this podcast shed light upon alot of sciences of Fiqh that go into determining the boundaries of islam. They cant be too lenient nor too brittle, Ustad MH brought to my attention the magnitude of complexities when it come to matters of Fiqh and differences of opinion, but on the other hand Ustad Daniel emphasized a stricter approach to preserve widely agreed upon opinions. I prefer brother Dan's approach more but with the understanding of the sciences of Fiqh brother Hijab shed light upon. Brother Hijab understands that the there is very little we should be able to do about the disagreements of great mujtahids of our deen, Br Dan agrees but brings to attention the strange views of some Mujtahids. I wish there was clear determining boundaries around some issues that plague our communities, like the issue of music (not saying there isn't already a vast majority agreeing to its impermissibility)and how the salaf and Ahadith strengthen and weaken opinions, because like Br Dan said , if we are left to choose , we would only choose what are nafs inclines to. this is a VERY expansive topic, may Allah grant us the beneficial knowledge for us to determine the best of the choices .

In response to Muhammad Hijab on how the support of weapons and ammunition from Iran reaches the resistance, the weapons reach by sea through Sudan and then from Sudan to Egyptian Rafah, which was smuggling weapons to Gaza. Secondly, it is clear, unfortunately, that the Sunnis (the Madkhalis and the nationalists) do not offer solutions with Israel except surrender and waiting. And any resistance they start by attacking the resistance instead of attacking the occupation. But the opposite happens when we talk about the Syrian revolution, so why don't we blame the Syrians for their revolution, which caused the death of a thousand of them? Isn't it better for them with the same mentality to surrender and wait!? Thirdly, Hezbollah's intervention was only after the war turned from a peaceful war to a military war. The same thing happened to the Syrians, who received Western and sectarian support, and there were dozens of factions that were fighting each other. Blaming Hezbollah without context is superficial. Finally, either the Sunnis should be steadfast in their decisions and trust the decisions and choices of the Palestinian people, or they should help them in a real way, whether by supporting them with weapons, boycotting them, and pressuring them diplomatically, or by hosting them and giving them citizenship, rights, and land. As for blaming the Palestinian because he is resisting the occupier, and blaming the Palestinian because he is receiving Iranian support after the Sunnis abandoned him, these are the methods of hypocrites.

Regarding 1:22:55 I think the following needs to also be considered: 1) No mention of STD check 2) There is a Hadith that a woman who fears Allah does not travel the distance of 3 days and nights (50 miles) and did she stop the sin due to feeling shame or due to the expiry of her student visa so she had to go back home. 3) The charging of high mahr gave the perception she was a very pious “high value woman”. 4) There is a tafsir of Surah An Nur Ayat 26 by Syed Abul A'la Maududi which could shed some opinion on this matter

What Br. Mohammed mentioned about music being a valid difference of opinion is incorrect, even if the scholar Ibn Hazm (may Allah have mercy upon him) allowed it. Among the Sahabah and the first three generations, there was absolute consensus that music is forbidden. The few scholars who introduced a different view centuries later cannot override this consensus. This is why scholars like Ibn al-Qayyim described Ibn Hazm’s opinion as munkar and fasad (corrupt and rejected).

Music in general is Haram, but scholars when discussing had to break it down and evaluate various aspects of it, bottom line was that the verdict on speech is the same verdict on music. Good speech is good and bad speech is haram, likewise there’s music which is Haram and a type of singing with instruments (music) that which connects you or reminds you of good or god is permissible, safe side is to stick to singing, not similar to singing unlawful songs but singing like we sing the Adhaan or Anasheed and the Quran. We now have scholars who say don’t use the term singing with these things rather we should say recite a nasheed or recite the Adhaan or recite the Quran. Bottom line is it all comes down to terminologies, as long as you have the correct understanding then terminologies shouldn’t matter..
