They get a lil slow but they still gotta eat 😂 I’ve never bought into the “fishings pointless during winter” thing, u just gotta change your approach

I’m a land based shark fisherman from California but I’ll be out in Austin for the holidays visiting my parents. I’m planning on catching bait in Austin and doing a trip to the trinity river to try shore casting for an alligator gar while I’m in Texas. Do you have any pointers in what I should be looking for while picking a spot to fish? Weather doesn’t look like it’s going to be ideal but still figured I would try.

I fished all day and night at two different brackish rivers and didn’t get a single run 😩

@@CatchingDinosaurs do they just not really eat in the winter? Or do they change their feeding patterns
@CatchingDinosaurs Жыл бұрын
@@reelingwithrobby They seek out the warmest waters possible, eat smaller baits and wont pick up baits deeper then like 5 foot of water, i caught the one in the video with my bait ten foot off the bank in 3 foot of water
@reelingwithrobby Жыл бұрын
@@CatchingDinosaurs gotcha… yeah I had my baits in the middle of the river. That explains why I caught a couple nice ones right next to the bank a couple weeks ago I thought it was just by chance
@CatchingDinosaurs Жыл бұрын
@@reelingwithrobby id also suggest fishing on days where night temps are over 65 degrees, its better if its multiple days of that in a row
