WHEN STROLLING around Camden Town, chances are you will come across Anderson Garcia Rodrigues, better known as Zombiepunk, who is a local phenomenon for his unique look. With a Mohawk and a body covered in tattoos and piercings, Anderson is regularly spotted standing by the famous Camden Lock with a sign that reads 'help a punk get drunk'. He is so well known that everyone wants to take a picture with him - someone even made a Zombiepunk doll after him. Originally from Brazil, the artist decided to move to the UK after struggling to be accepted for who he was. Anderson, who has now become part of Camden's tourist attraction, told Truly: "Everyone doesn't accept how I look. Everyone thinks I'm crazy. Everyone thinks I'm the devil."

I held the door for an older gentleman the other day with my more heavily tattooed hand and you could see he was genuinely taken aback as if he didn't expect it from me of all people. Makes me sad that people think of it in such a bad light. Tattoos are just a way to tell people your story. Nothing bad about them at all.

As a punk, I know the feeling of people being rude to you. As an example. I’m used to getting looks as I have been into punk culture since I was 7. When I was 11 I was walking with my mate who was 13 at the time to the shops. He has a Mohawk and a even now he’s 19 and he still frightens me a bit. A woman walked past us and spat on me, and said to my friend “I can’t believe your allowed to dress like that”. Shocking behaviour from a grown woman.

me as a christian punker still a punker at 53 years old, same thing happens to me but I have some older generations who is on me side too, like 60s hippies, who relate to punk rockers, I do dress punk like I did in the 80's,........only GOD, keeps me alive, blacks , indians, arabs, and some Americans hate punks because of the tv negativity, and blacks telling lies to all the people about us punkers and against Christians too, not just the punx, blacks hates good and kind folks,......I report people who spit on me to the police, spitting is a felony, people who spit on you and your cool friend can report people that spit on ya,.........have a cool day mate....as I write this, I'm listening to SOCIAL DISTORTION,..........marius(punk rules).

He has good vibes. And people like him make Camden what it is. People say 'he has no job' but would miss street performers and people like this in big cities. This is no punk. This is a labor migrant, there are more on Camden like this. They realized that this archaic punk view had earning potential, and just dressed up to beg. When I was homeless I seen first hand how much begging earns. Your talking anywhere from 40£ to 70£ to max 120£ within 5 hours. They would spend it all on drugs but it was insane how much they can make in just even one hour.
