Some places have "accelerated programs" where you can get a bachelors & masters in 3-4 years. So makes sense how they could have a phd at 25 (if they have one). But aside from that iirc i had some english professors that had their masters, the reason i know is because they gave a brief about themselves at the start of class. Any STEM related major though they were all professors, at least at my uni.
