I love the first story. Apart from the revenge, her idea to let everyone who had a wedding dress wear it for her wedding was marvelous. Not only did it serve as a revenge but I can see the excitement of the guests when they received invitations that they can wear their wedding dress for the event.

Update to the second story: It won’t let me edit it but here’s a PART 2: The next day his mom called me to talk things over with me. She is an amazing woman who raised him on her own whilst creating a very profitable company. He was initially set to get the company when she unfortunately passes away but she changed her will so that he only gets the minimum dollar amount and her brother will get the company. I know that hurt him in a way I couldn’t imagine because he always talked about running it and taking over for her to make her proud. I just know he cried when she told him that. My ex neighbor Martha (70is) is an absolute shit starter. If there is drama to be had she will find it or create it. I’d told her I was moving out and why about a week before I left so she’d keep me in the loop in the aftermath. Amy moved in shortly after I left and through the thin walls of our duplex, Martha heard everything unfold. Apparently they fought constantly because they couldn’t trust each other ( go figure ). Amy was always yelling about him having sex with me and how she wanted all new furniture because she couldn’t sit somewhere where we hadn’t been intimate. She is also a mess. Like an actual mess. She doesn’t know how to clean, throw out trash, do laundry, or cook. Max has always been and will always be a neat freak. I mean everything has a place and everything should be in its place kind of man. There’s no way they would be able to live together full time without wanting to strangle each other. And Mrs. Martha, bless her cheetah print soul, loved to let Amy know that Max’s beautiful sister was coming over a lot now that OP was gone. Of course Max doesn’t have a sister and she’s lying but boy did it have the desired effect of an all out screaming match between them. She’s angry he would cheat on her, he’s angry the house looks like a garbage pit, she yells because he had sex with me in the kitchen after they’re had sex in her apartment, he yells that she was the biggest mistake he ever made and he wants me back. That hits her hard apparently so she starts throwing stuff at him and he calls the cops on her. She already had a bit of a record for fighting at bars and clubs so when the police get there they detain her and have her sit on the curb out front. Mrs. Martha comes out to be nosey and see what’s going on. She gives a statement about what she hears and as they are putting Amy in the back of the squad car she yells out to Amy to not worry because she’s sure Max’s sister will come over to help clean the house. When I tell y’all I love this woman with all of my heart! Amy freaks the hell out and starts trying to run at Max and is apparently tazed and put in the back of a squad car. Max tells her to stop trying to interfere but of course that means nothing to Mighty Mrs. Martha so she just smiles and goes back into her house. Amy got released a couple days later after making bail and only went back to the duplex a couple of times, both with police escorts, so we think Max took out an order of protection against her. Max has made multiple Facebook pages to message me and apologize but I block them all immediately. He’s called my work as well but thankfully I work remotely and I’d already told my supervisors not to give out any information regarding me or my contact details. I don’t have any siblings or family for them to reach out to so I figured if they’d try to reach me they would do it through my job. I’m not sure what happened with his work emails, though I’m assuming he had A LOT of explaining to do to his bosses, coworkers and business connections. When I think about how he had to have that conversation over and over again it makes me smiles. Amy has apparently moved to a new state and doesn’t talk with anyone in our old friend group, probably because they all came down on her pretty hard. To think about her still breaks my heart. We’d been friends all my life. When my parents died, she was my rock. She made me see past my grief and my depression and want to live again. I try to think about the good times and not let the bad times ruin them for me. When I was reading their messages I could see the evolution of the conversations and the happiness they shared at doing things behind my back. The night I was reading them it was like my ribs burned and my stomach was queasy but I had to think logically vs emotionally. I didn’t truly breakdown until I got to my new apartment. I just sat on the floor of my new kitchen and cried for what felt like hours. It took me a couple of weeks but I slowly started to unpack and find a new rhythm in my new life. Juno and Meatlof (the dogs) helped a lot too. They were a little nervous over the move and not having Max with them but as of today they are amazing and happy we’ve moved somewhere with a dog park. This was 4ish years ago so I’ve moved on in life but it’s definitely left some scars. I started therapy 6 months after I moved out and that’s helped a lot but I still haven’t been able to put myself into a trusting relationship. I’ve yet to have another long term partner as it just gives me too much anxiety and trust issues.

Thanks for this.. This sounds like justice.. How hilarious of Amy screaming to max of how dare he cheated on her knowing already that he literally cheat on his girlfriend aka her best friend WITH HER... I remember how my cousin's gf told me that my cousin was cheating on her and showed me her 'the mistress' fb.. The only thing I said was " if he can cheat on his loyal girlfriend, I bet he can cheat on a side chick like you too " then hell broke loose

There's no need to even try to be in another relationship until you're ready. You still have healing that needs to happen, and sometimes it's best just to be on one's own while that's going on. You seem like a very strong person who's already had to deal with so much. A time of rest is what you need, and it sounds like you have that right now.

In South Indian Christian wedding ceremonies It is mandatory for married relatives (females) of the first circle to wear their wedding sarees. I never understood why it was mandatory, but that tradition is slowly changing so my generation of married people don't wear their wedding sarees to the relatives weddings now. It's just that story involving wedding dresses reminded me of this tradition of ours.

There is a tradition here in Europe in very olden days where the bridemaids would wear the same dress as the bride to confuse and lure out the evil spririts to them instead of bride. Don't remember which country or time tho
@sargampareek2774

Yes, as an I Indian (North), these stories about not wearing white are always confusing to me. Red is the color of the bride for us and almost all the close relatives wear heavy dresses in similar colors. Newly weds are always in their wedding lehangas. Same goes for guys. The logic is, the happier you are, the better you will dress.

First story: Even the priest was terrified of this woman. LOL How can she want have children with a man who sees the abuse his mother is dishing out to his girlfriend and kids and not say something except let it go. OP should have called the police on MIL for harassment and got a restraining order. I hate when people bring God into their abuse. That boils my blood when people use God and the bible to abuse someone. That was the most awesome revenge/no revenge in the history of the world. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣I bet that dress looked beautiful. That store must have had previous experience with people trying to upstage the bride or read/heard stories about it. (VLC = Very Low Contact) Second story: She took the dogs!!!! Yaaaaaaaay! This is some evil scientist level planning. Good good. muahahaha I have no love for family and friends who would go after their friends or family members significant other.

First story: If the bride-to-be hadn't discovered what her in-laws had done concerning the dresses, and they had showed up like that, can you imagine what everyone else at that wedding would have thought of them. Everybody would have been thinking things like "what despicable pieces of human garbage" "what kind of trash would try to ruin their family members wedding like that". When she changed the plans, and had all the guests show up in regular wedding dresses if they had one, while she wore the purple and black dress, she actually saved her in-laws from looking like the jerks that they truly are.

When i finally met my little sister's husband, I realized he was perfect for me. And I knew instantly I would have to be careful not to let myself become too attached. I refused to do that to my little sister, me, or him. We are all still good friends and I make sure to keep it platonic at all times. That is self-respect as well as love and respect for my sister and her husband.

1st story reminds of something that was not in any way petty. This girl got invited to a wedding of a close friend. This girl was on a very tight budget of like Ramen 4 days out of the week while going to college type. She bought a $50 dress which was a lot for her to wear at her wedding only to find out that the bride was in the same color dress and just similar enough to the wedding dress (wedding dress was not white). Poor girl was having a panic attack only for the bride and mom and Mother of the groom to grab her, run upstairs to the mom's room and help her get a new dress. Wedding was held at the bride's family house. The bride was in no way upset since she knew her friend was willing to spend the money get a dress for the wedding. The Mom of the bride pulled out a nice dress that could be altered real quickly since MOTG was a part time seamstress. The 3 got the girl all fixed up and calmed her down. The bride told her friend that it was alright and she was not made in any way but was more upset that her friend had spent that much money for a dress knowing how tight of a budget she had. Should point out that while the bride came from money you would have never known it as her parents raised her that money is not everything and no one is better than anyone else. The wedding went off with out any issue. Both bride and friend has fun. The Bride and Groom sent the girl home with as much of the food as they could with out it going to waste as the bride knew her friend would not accept any money for anything. Then MOTB told the girl that she could keep the dress for important events telling her that every girl should have a good dress. The girl almost freaked out as that dress cost 5 digits. (Should also point out that while the Bride's family was not about showing off their wealth there were times when they had to dress rich hence the 5 digit dress). That was how the bride's family got around not paying for the mishap with the dress since once again the girl would not accept any money from them despite being tight on money. years later The girl still has both dresses and ate for almost 2 weeks on the food from the wedding. The 2 are still good friends till this day

I love that first story especially because I have a similar dynamic with my own mother in law. My in laws largely understand that I love him and he loves me. But my mother in law... I saw her for her true colors since I had seen her messages to him. Initially I did try to get on her good side a little by offering to cook with her. She got excited but by the next day she remembered she hated me and didn't seem to want it anymore. Then came our big day. We were staying at a hotel a few days for prep and finish and to make sure she couldn't sabotage anything. He didn't really want her there because he was worried she would ruin it on purpose. I wasn't worried until the morning of our wedding day. She was going off on and on about how she would disown him if he didn't cancel, that she hated me, I wasn't good enough for him, refused to come watch him make the biggest mistake of his life, and that he isn't welcome in her presence if we walked down that aisle against her wishes. I asked if he was ok and what he wanted to do. I said I would understand if we cancel or reschedule. He said he was fine and we were going through with it anyway. He thought it was a bluff. (It was.) So fast forward to mixing and mingling after the main service and his grandparents said they offered her a ride but she refused to come. They offered his little sister a ride and my mother in law was adamant about her not coming. Meanwhile his mother had said not to come visit or anything because she couldn't stand to see him after he married me. Skip ahead. We didn't go straight back to the hotel. We had other stuff to do and I wanted to lighten things up while he was worried about her antics. I was worried more for him since that narcissist is his mother. Well, she leaves me this disgusting 2 faced message about how she and his sister had wanted to go but were late off work (they had the literal day off), how they came by but we weren't at the hotel, had slid a greeting card under the door for us, that she thought we were coming over. I get this twitchy irritated grin I get when annoyed and was like, "... Your mother is pretending all sorts of cr4p in my messages. Permission to set her straight as it can backlash onto you?" He told me to go easy on her. So I did. I said something along the lines of, "oh, I see. I'm sorry we misinterpreted your words and actions. We were under the impression you hated me, he was disowned, and that you refused to show up. So sorry for the confusion in your intentions. When should we visit tomorrow?" She didn't respond to me. 😂 2nd 1... I'm glad my friend circle is and has been better than this. When boyfriends flirted with friends they were turned down unless he pretended we broke up. This 1 guy a friend of mine and I both liked but cared for each other more ended up confessing "love" to both of us privately and not to tell the other. Next day, I'm feeling a bit guilty and like I should tell her anyway but hadn't decided how yet, and she calls me to tell me how she wasn't supposed to tell me but didn't want secrets between us. She started gushing that because we broke up it was ok and how happy she was. Everything clicked. I was like, "... Chicka... We've both been played. He said the confession to me, too, and told me not to tell you because you told him you loved him and he rejected you." We were pretty ticked. We told him he had to choose because both isn't on the menu and that we knew. He said he couldn't choose between us and would pick neither (I was fine with that) but tried the same tactic again. Told both of us individually he chose us and not to tell the other. Needless to say... He was busted just as quickly. We essentially broke up with him again. His next confession I told him to lose his **cough youknowwhat** in a cactus. I ended up blocking him. All others also informed me if boyfriends hit on them. It was basically a "heck no and your girlfriend is gonna know!" 😂

Only committing on the second story. Reason girls have BEST girlfriends? It BECAUSE you both share the same tastes which sometimes also happens to be in men. Your best friend already knows she likes your man and got to know him through you. So best friend stealing your partner? Understand that. Partner going along with it? Sucks, he wasn't a good partner to begin with. But I liked how you screwed with BOTH of their cheating heads before you made your exit.

First story the mom makes me mad and I haven’t even heard the whole thing I also have experienced and still do religious trauma it gives me anxiety to even heard to word god or Jesus after told by mom mom I will burn in hell for being an atheist or homosexual and I’ll be abandoned by her then her describing what they do in hell and what they do in foster homes saying I am Christian I don’t have a choice ect. Checking my phone assuming and lecturing me about having “ inappropriate games “ when I didn’t and forcing me to get a prayer and go to church and this is some of the things she’s done and she thinks she’s a good mom don’t do this too your kids or grandkids you might think your “ saving “ them no your not

The last story -- that wasn't the woman's best friend nor was it her friend. A friend treats you honorably.

My friends can always be at ease about me dating their partners because 1. I'm not a trashy friend 2. I would never get with any man who's in a relationship 3. My friends are a thousand times prettier than me so i don't even see any reason why their men would lay their eyes on me.

The first story: that woman is struggling a bit with ideas of genuine salvation, etc. The mom should've talk to the son about this relationship, accepted if he wanted to stay with her, and not have attacked them emotionally.

I feel like the girl talking about having kids to someone who can’t have kids even if they were horrible would be so incredibly mean…..Like yes cheating is terrible and cheaters themselves are awful but her being infertile has nothing to do with cheating. And it’s sadly something quite a few women have to deal with.

How are you doing my dear sweet friend? How are you feeling? In this very first story, the MIL is just doing way to much unnecessary stuff. So what if the wife's an atheist that doesn't at all make her a bad person. I love you!! Have a great weekend!! Stay safe!!
