I almost wish the succession war arc was skipped if it meant we'd get an ending. Don't get me wrong, I'm enjoying it, but we know the dark continent arc is going to be so much better. At the current pacing it's going to take at least 10 years to finish. An that's a very generous time frame as we're pretty much on the longest hiatus of the series yet.

@@lukeb5905 i think Togashi works a lot on the set up so the rest of the arc would make perfect sense (like gon and killua practicing nen, and chimera arc first episodes) he likes perfection. and I agree, the Dark Continent probably is the best arc so far and we dont even know when we'll see it. but something i'm really grateful for is that the anime had a satisfying ending, like if people didn't know that there's a manga and just watched the anime they'd be like 'yup, that's the last episode, it's over' without it looking forced. so idk at least we have a completed anime with the tease at the end (of the dark continent)

Honestly i don't want it to finish. At this point i don't believe that there can be a remotely satisfactory ending for it. The successtion war arc in the manga now is the most ambitious and cimplicated arc i have ever seen in any story ever. And that is just a preperation arc for the black continent. The vastness and the potential of hunter x hunter is unlike anything i have ever seen. To the point where i feel like its not supposed to end.
