Gucci SUCKS now! Yes sales are great but that's because "anti and ugly fashion" IS in fashion. The new Gucci aesthetic is grotesque and ghetto (I mean Gucci logo tees really!?). Gucci was fabulous under Tom Ford and after him Frida as well! I remember watching the Gucci runway shows in 2008 and 2009 after school on FT when I was 13 and 14. I really miss that time when fashion was sexy yet chic. Now it's just ugly.

The designs lacked editing and that makes the whole thing annoying and obnoxious but i guess that is their intent and fashion sheeple got into it blindly. They were lucky..really lucky to do it at social media age bec if it was let's say 2008 or right after Tom, it would have been a disaster. I know that it can appeal to younger people who are still experimenting with styles and trying to have the latest thing out there to show off but for seasoned and practical fashion shoppers, it is a big no! We can already foresee those tacky embroidered stuff being stuck in one's closet after this phase bec you will be so ashamed to be seen wearing them in public.

Well, Tom doesn't state it here, but Gucci declined to renew his contract, after his ten year term. He had taken them to the height of profitability. Not saying that he is avoiding the issue, as he DID want to venture into film, and did so. Tom Ford brought elegance and style to Gucci. Not sure that the company is the same without him. His line, though, is doing very well.
