Nah, this plaintiff is bad news. She tried to accuse the defendant of taking advantage of HER when really it’s the other way around. She absolutely scammed this woman. $1700 to throw some paper plates on tables! I think the judge should’ve given the bride more money back. I think right away the not showing up at the ceremony should’ve been the $300 right there, then let’s start adding up totals for everything else she didn’t do at the reception. And it bothered me she blamed the defendant for the ceremony issue, said the bride told her not to come. Well ma’am, you’re the coordinator, the one being paid to organize the wedding. It’s on YOU to tell her why you need to be there and what you’ll be doing there. Brides don’t realize what they need help with behind the scenes or think of the order of the line when they’re in the office doing a contract a year before the event, it’s on the professional to tell the bride what will happen. Absolute mess. The accusation of calling the defendant a scam artist made me so mad. Her audacity. And she muttered in court “I been going to that church for 20 years, I don’t know how long she’s been there” like bc she’s been there longer she’s a true Christian and that woman isn’t or something. Lol I don’t know, she gave me so many ugly vibes. The fact she even sued her fir $300 when she didn’t do half the wedding told me everything I needed to know so watching it was just extra haha

The Defendant paid for her own decorations and the decor, so the Plaintiff charged $1700 just to set up paper plates & decorations, and nothing else? Insane. And the contract clearly says she was supposed to be the PLANNER, not just the decorator. The plaintiff is a total scammer. And I totally believe her daughters walked out with champagne under their coats. I’m shocked the Defendant even agreed to that foolishness, but she probably assumed the Plaintiff was actually going to plan & direct the wedding. Quite frankly, the Defendant should’ve gotten some money back. And I hope when they go back to that church, everyone knows what a scammer & dishonest person the Plaintiff is.

I'm so glad that the judge did not award the plaintiff the $300 for the favors! I think the defendant should have been awarded some damages, if you don't want to be a party planner, an event planner, whatever you want to call it don't put it on your contract if there's a check mark next to event planner that means you are the wedding planner, you're in charge of being at the wedding and the reception planning everything and making sure everything runs smoothly, not only did the defendant pay for all of her own decorations but one of her family friends had to step in as the party planner that's ridiculous I wouldn't have paid her a dime! This is why it is very important in a contract to name off all of the responsibilities even if that's tedious and a lot of typing it's worth it in the long run to save yourself if you end up in court.

While the plaintiff saw a situation to take advantage of, it sounds like the defendant is a bit confused herself. I cannot believe there was a contract, because it doesn't appear very tight. How can the defendant think the plaintiff was supposed to organize the wedding party going down the aisle, when the plaintiff never mentioned it? And the plaintiff mentions having to decorate three venues right at the beginning, what three venues? To throw out a few bags of candles and some paper plates, the plaintiff wanted to be paid far too much!

So I get the plantiffs side and the defendants sides. The bride ADMITS she planned the event, but DIDN'T insist on the plantiff being there. And putting up decorations is TOUGH! We had a TINY wedding, and it took HOURS to put together easy goodie bags (just candies for the kids), and wrapping up nicer goodies for adults. We decorated a few tables ourselves (I did it all myself), and it took what felt like FOREVER. And tearing down.... oh man! If I had had the money, I'd have paid someone. However, I DO understand that the defendant wasn't happy about stuff. I would NEVER accuse someone without evidence of theft. I would have outlined EVERYTHING so clearly in our contract!

What? You dont go to church because you could meet an event planner for your wedding and it would then turn out that she would not fulfill her contract? That oddly specific!

@@kaycure8629 It’s an American thing. I’m over seventy years old and I’ve only ever seen paper plates at a child’s birthday party. I’ve always wondered why people use them for mealtimes at home. Is just to avoid washing dishes? Edit: I tell a lie, I’ve seen them at small work gatherings, meetings etc.

Why did she even hire the plaintiff??? She did absolutely nothing for $1700.00. The defendant was dumb! Sign me up to plan her next birthday party. I promise I won't show up either and pay me $1700. Thanks in advance. This was a weird case!!!
