After spending a period of running in on the Severn Valley Railway between the end of March and April, newly turned out ex-BR built LNER A2 no '60532, Blue Peter' would see some proving runs around Shropshire and the West Midlands.
We first see the engine at Stourbridge Junction on the 30th of April as it returned to LSL's Crewe depot, its first proper venture on the national network since 2001 (Technically, its first moves were on the 14th of March whilst on test movements, but perhaps we're being too pedantic).
Two days later, the engine got a proper outing whilst on a test run on LSL's test circuit from Crewe to Shrewsbury and back via Wolverhampton. This shot takes us to Strawmoor Lane bridge, just outside of Codsall. The Birmingham-bound passenger train in front had cleared enough room for the A2 to get a decent burst of sprint just before having to slow down for Wolverhampton, as shown here.
