A friend of mine was offered a brand new 2024 Pepsi Jubilee last week for £19,000 and the dealer told him it’s guaranteed to be discontinued, Then on Wednesday after it wasn’t discontinued they dropped the price to £18,000 and they sold it on Thursday for £17,000 😂 True Story.

Rolex finally lost the plot. Who wants diamonds on a Daytona. Datejust Motif’s was a great dial but they discontinued them. I knew the Pepsi wasn’t going anywhere. Very disappointed with the releases.

I suspect that a lot of the brands have held back this year given the down turn and the economy in general. No one wants there brand new releases sitting in shop windows. This includes Rolex let’s face it they know that every GMT they make will be sold before it leaves the factory so it’s a safe release and the rest are all gold models which are lower production and higher profit so I think they (and all brands) will hold off until the economy improves and customers have spare cash to spend

This is probably a very accurate observation, i would tend to agree. Across the board new releases are not huge and typically not stainless steel mass appeal watches more collectors’ grade gold watches which is an audience unaffected by the economic situation

Very likely. 👍 And doubly makes sense for Rolex given that many of their releases with silly diamonds and rare metals are for the ‘let them eat cake’ class who live high above the real world.

Also…about the dumping of Pepsis that held back in anticipation of them being discontinued…I think that’s true in the next few months but they’re still rare as hens teeth so surely that’ll shore up prices anyway. Especially when we can assume that production might concentrate on the new GMT which, compared with the Pepsi is a bit bland. I was lucky enough to get a Pepsi from my AD last Oct and it was a culmination of 2 other Rolexes and a JLC and when I picked it up I swore I’d flip it to justify the other 3 but there’s something about the colours and the comfort that makes me want to sell the other 3 before I sell this one. I don’t think the black and gray would have the same effect on me.

Still almost impossible to get hands on a Pepsi from AD so can’t see them going down hugely. If they discontinued they may have brought out a new model with fixed ceramic insert so I don’t think gona see Pepsi values dump unless they increase supply which is doubtful.

Technically the GMT black/grey bezel is not new. Rolex released last year the same GMT with a black/grey bezel on a two tone bracelet. This year Rolex made the model with an all steel bracelet. I was thinking that to be different Rolex would have designed a praline white dial to create buzz amongst collectors. Let's see what happens when the new CEO takes the reigns of Rolex in June.

Still not getting a Pepsi though and £15-16k is optimistic. Rolex are using Tudor for mainstream and Rolex for exotics. Diamonds, precious metals and Dress Watches.

Hi mark i can confirm that tudors new black bb and the coke are MUCH sexier in the flesh, tried them and w&w and i’m very happy with them, the black is basically a rolex sub VERY similar now and the coke has perfect dimensions and case size, especially with the METAS it’s great value

I actually really like the GMT black/grey on jubilee, I think it’s stealthy. I’ve registered with my AD for it. I assume like any GMT it’s a ‘Flip’? Even though I’d be buying to keep. I’m also really glad the OP Celebration is still here, I’m registered for that and really like it.

well if you’re lucky enough to get it within 6 months then should be a very tasty profit but as i said 12 months from now i expect this on Jubilee to settle at 15-16k asking price which would place trade around 13k, all in all that would represent around £3k profit

You’re miles off on that GMT mate. This is such a meh release. Why would anyone pay over £20,000 for this Watch? It’s far less appealing than the current GMT lineup. It’s the 116750LN, but with grey on the lower half of the bezel.

The Pepsi not being discontinued was no surprise to me, why anyone would pay the these inflated prices when a rootbeer is much much easier to acquire. I got my rootbeer at retail in December 23 £12750 and gets worn about 2-3 days per week it is my best watch, and might be worth less than I paid due to it being in below average condition (average condition sadly is unworn or rarely worn). Why would anyone want a Pepsi? it is not a good look people will assume your a mug who was shafted by the grey market and realistically its an overpriced steel rolex. The rootbeer is only 30-40 grams heavier but I can feel the difference. Another overrated rolex where I don't understand the hype is the titanium yacht master it is a lovely to look at but when I try one on at my AD it felt fake do to its lightness.
